“Ha Noi Women’s Cultural Festival” inaugurated

On 3rd March, at the headquarters of Ha Noi Women’s Union at No. 6 Ton That Thuyet street, Cau Giay district, the Cultural Festival for Ha Noi Women took place.  The Festival was organized by the Union of Ha Noi Women in celebration of the 107th anniversary of the International Women’s Day and 1977th anniversary..

On 3rd March, at the headquarters of Ha Noi Women’s Union at No. 6 Ton That Thuyet street, Cau Giay district, the Cultural Festival for Ha Noi Women took place.  The Festival was organized by the Union of Ha Noi Women in celebration of the 107th anniversary of the International Women’s Day and 1977th anniversary of Hai Ba Trung uprisings, and the 12th National Congress of Women Deputies.

Attending the Festival were Deputy Chairmwoman of the Union of Viet Nam Women, Bui Thi Hoa Nam; Member of the Standing committee, Head of the People mobilization Committee of Ha Noi Party Committee, Nguyen Lan Huong; Member of the Standing committee, Chairwoman of the Municipal Labour Union, Nguyen Thi Tuyen; Deputy Chairman of Ha Noi People’s Committee, Head of the Municipal Committee for Women’s Progress, Ngo Van Quy; Deputy Chairman of the Municipal People’s Council, Phung Thi Hong Ha; Member of the Municipal Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Municipal Union of Women, Tran Thi Phuong Hoa; Le Thi Kim Oanh, Permanent Deputy Chaiwoman of the Committee of Viet Nam  Father’s Front in Ha Noi and nearly 200 delegates, representing hundreds of women in Ha Noi Capital.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Tran Phuong Hoa, Member of the Municipal Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Municipal Union of Women asserted: further build on the bravery of Ha Ba Trung heroes and combatant spirits of the world female workers, generations of Vietnamese women were and are continuing to write on the glorious historic pages, shaping extremely prestigious icons of women in the national history. The tradition of “heroism, indomitableness, faithfulness and responsibilities” of the Vietnamese women is a great momentum helping women of Ha Noi unceasingly better themselves through actively studying, creatively labouring, contributing their talents and energies to the cause of renovation of Ha Noi and the country, as well as in the building of civilized and happy families.

For the past years, the municipal women union at all levels have been implementing effectively the emulation movement of “the Capital women actively study, creatively work and building civilized. Happy family” in accordance with the Directive No. 05-CT/TU of the Politburo on enhancing the learning from and following the idealology, ethics and styles of Ho Chi Minh. In 2016, the union at all levels had managed and disbursed more than 3.204 billion dongs, helping 2,440 households get out of poverty; maintained and improved the quality of 2,414 green, clean, beautiful road sections self-managed by women and 131 flower blossom road sections. Heading for the XIIth National Women Congress, the all-level unions have undertaken to complete thousands of projects, work pieces of significant praticality for the community, and care for women and children. Concretely, all unions have assisted in constructing and repairing 87 whole- hearted shelters and thanking houses; offering 500 presents, scholarships in favour of families, women and children living under hard conditions.

The cultural festival of the Capital women comprised of various activities, i.e performances of festival drums, singing and dancing for the love of the country and Capital, fashion show of the traditional long dress,…  Furthermore, there were 40 booths displaying and introducing traditional products as Me Tri made green rice flakes, organic vegetables of Long Bien and Gia Lam districts, organic fowl of Ba Vi and Soc son districts, Uoc Le pork pies of Thanh Oai district.
