As planned, the third Press Contest on developing culture and building elegant and civilized Hanoians 2020 will be organized by the City Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Training.
The prizes were considered giving to excellent authors (groups of authors), works on the following topic: Policy and line of the Party Committee on socio-cultural development, improvement of quality of the capital’s human resources, building elegant and civilized Hanoians in the 2016-2020 period; propaganda about the position, role and importance of culture for the capital’s comprehensive and sustainable development; renovation of the leadership, direction and administration work; enhancement of administrative reform; promotion of the pioneering and exemplary role of leading cadres, especially the leaders.
Outstanding results and achievements in the implementation of the City Party Committee’s Program 04-CT/TU are associated with the implementation of the two City’s Codes of Conduct. The typical examples of collectives and individuals, new models, and good practices are reflected, thereby positively affecting the cultural development, building of elegant and civilized Hanoians and implemention of the two Codes of Conduct. Difficulties, shortcomings, negative manifestations, and outstanding issues in the cultural development of the capital and the implementation of the two Codes of Conduct are also mentioned.
Participants of the Contest are Vietnamese citizens whose press works are published and broadcast in various types of media (printed newspaper, online newspaper, radio, television, press photo). The participants shall not violate the regulations on professional ethics applied to Vietnamese journalists, the Press Law and other applicable laws.
The works of all genres about cultural development and building of elegant and civilized Hanoians are published and broadcast in various types of media: printed newspaper, online newspaper, radio, television, press photo. The works for which prize was awarded in other contests still may participate in the Press Prize on developing culture and building elegant and civilized Hanoians, provided that the type of prize and the contest organizing agency must be specified.
Schedule: Time for publishing and broadcasting works is from August 20, 2019 to August 10, 2020. Time for launching the Contest is from October 2019. The deadline for receiving works is August 10, 2020 (as stated on post mark).
Number of prizes: 01 Special Prize, 03 Prizes A, 05 Prizes B, 10 Prizes C, 15 Consolation Prizes, and 2 Excellent Prizes for typical press agencies.
Prize value: Special Prize is VND 100 million, Prize A is VND 50 million, Prize B is VND 30 million, Prize C is VND 20 million, Consolation Prize is VND 10 million, Excellent Prizes for typical press agencies is VND 15 million. The bonus for works that are qualified for the final is VND 2 million.
The Contest aims to build an advanced culture of the capital, imbued with national identity, inheriting and promoting the traditional cultural value of Thang Long – Hanoi “Thousand years of culture, the heroic capital, the city for peace”; to well implement the goal of building elegant and civilized Hanoians; to preserve and promote tangible and intangible cultural values, and make Hanoi Capital a major cultural center; thereby, further raising awareness of officials, reporters and editors of press agencies and attracting the attention of the whole society in writing and composing works on building an advanced culture of the capital imbued with national identity, and well implementing the goal of building elegant and civilized Hanoians.
Besides, the Contests aims to acknowledge, support and encourage reporters, editors and individuals who have actively participated in, and contributed to, the propaganda about building elegant and civilized Hanoians associated with the propaganda about “Code of conduct behavior of cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers in agencies in Hanoi City “and” Code of conduct in public places in the city”; to commend and praise qualified authors and inspiring high-quality works; to contribute to improving the quality of communication and propaganda about the culture of Hanoians.
The prize announcement and award ceremony is expected to be held in October 2020, on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2020) and the 1010th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi, in preparing for the 17th City Party Congress (term 2020-2025), towards the 18th Party Congress.
