Launching ceremony of the 45th Hanoimoi Newspaper Open Running Tournament for Peace 2018

On the morning of March 25, the “Olympic running day for the people’s health” and the launching ceremony of the 45th Hanoimoi Newspaper Open Running Tournament for Peace 2018 were held at My Dinh National Stadium Square (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi) by Hanoimoi Newspaper, Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the People’s Committee..

On the morning of March 25, the “Olympic running day for the people’s health” and the launching ceremony of the 45th Hanoimoi Newspaper Open Running Tournament for Peace 2018 were held at My Dinh National Stadium Square (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi) by Hanoimoi Newspaper, Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the People’s Committee of Nam Tu Liem District.

Leaders of the People’s Committee of Hanoi City and General Department of Sports and Physical Training participated in the main activities of the Olympic Running Day for People’s Health and the launching ceremony of the 45th Hanoimoi Newspaper Open Running Tournament for Peace 2018.

Attending the tournament were Mr. Ngo Van Quy, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hanoi City, Mr. Tran Duc Phan, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Editor-in-Chief of the Hanoimoi Newspaper, Mr. Truong Minh Tien, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, representatives of ministries, committees, branches of the Fatherland Front, districts, towns, sponsors, and nearly 8,000 people who were coaches, athletes, artists, actors of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports as well as officials, workers, public servants, students in Nam Tu Liem District and employees of several enterprises in the capital city.

The Running day took place in an interesting atmosphere

At the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Van Quy, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee, announced the opening of the Olympic Running Day for People’s Health and launched the 45th Hanoimoi Newspaper Open Running Tournament for Peace 2018. He said: “The launching of Olympic Running Day for People’s Health and the 45th Hanoimoi Newspaper Open Running Tournament for Peace 2018 by the capital city a commendable gesture in celebration of the 72nd anniversary of Vietnamese Sports Sector’s Traditional Day. In implementing the city’s plan and as instructed by Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, in March 2018, the districts and towns simultaneously launched the Olympic Running Day for People’s Health and the 45th Hanoimoi Newspaper Open Running Tournament for Peace 2018 in all communes, wards, and towns and received warm responses. The Hanoimoi Newspaper Open Running Tournament for Peace is a traditional running tournament of the capital city which receives mass support and is one of the most reputable mass running events. The idea behind the Olympic Running Day for People’s Health embodies the legacy and promotes the idea of “​Strong citizens make a prosperous country” of President Ho Chi Minh and combines with the ideal of the international Olympic movement. Through the Olympic Running Day for People’s Health and the Hanoimoi Newspaper Open Running Tournament for Peace, the city continues to implement the campaign “People exercise their bodies following the example of Uncle Ho” with an aim to improve the physical strength of the people, enhance the quality of human resources, build a healthy lifestyle and cultural environment, and consolidate the people’s solidarity bloc”.

Numerous people participated in the Olympic day

Mr. Tran Duc Phan, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, said: “72 years from the day Uncle Ho called for mass physical training to contribute to improving the health of the people, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Vietnam Olympic Committee jointly launched the Olympic Running Day for People’s Health for the first time in 2015. This event embodies the national strategy on the stature of Vietnamese people aimed at improving the health, quality of life, and quality of human resources to step by step form a habit of physical training for people.” Mr. Tran Duc Phan believed that the movement of physical training and sports of Hanoi would be increasingly developed through the Olympic Running Day for People’s Health.

On this occasion, the organizers also presented flowers to their partners: Hitsamitsu Vietnam Co., Ltd, VietinBank, Herbalife Vietnam Single Member Limited Liability Company, Van Xuan Beverage Company Limited, Lotus International Sports JSC. In addition, the organizers also awarded flags and flowers to the participants.

After the launching ceremony until July 2018, the wards, communes, towns, schools, production units, business units, non-business units, and armed force units in the area will hold standard running tests with at least 292,000 attendees.

The final round of the 45th Hanoimoi Newspaper Open Running Tournament for Peace 2018 will be held on October 7, 2018 at Ly Thai To Park and around Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi.

HERBALIFE JOINS VIETNAM OLYMPIC COMMITTEE IN HOSTING THE OLYMPIC RUNNING DAY

Herbalife joins Vietnam Olympic Committee in hosting the 2018 Olympic Running Day for People’s Health in celebration of the 72nd anniversary of Vietnamese Sports Day (March 27, 1946 – March 27, 2018). The running event is part of a series of nationwide events beginning in Hue on March 18th and will continue to take place in other provinces until March 26. About 10,000 Herbalife members will attend this running event in 24 provinces across the country.

We are very excited that this year’s Olympic Running Day receives even more warm responses from many organizations and individuals, especially the youth and students” said Mr. Pham Tuong Huy, General Director of Herbalife Vietnam. “The Olympic running day continues to contribute effectively to building a strong tendency for mass physical training and preservation of health. To continue the success of the 2017 Olympic Running Day, this year, with the excellent cooperation of Vietnam Olympic Committee, we will continue to promote the message of the importance of proper dietary nutrition combined with physical training. This is in line with our mission which is to build a healthier and happier community.”
