At the beginning of the conference, attendees were shown the precious “Hanoi – 12 Days and Nights” documentary film about the days the Air Defense – Air Force service and our people fought bravely against the bombing of Imperial America’s B-52 aircrafts in the sky of Hanoi. The film partly recreated the historical combat scenes of the battle of “Dien Bien Phu in the air” as well as our people’s indomitable spirit against foreign invaders which was considered the prerequisite behind our army and people’s victory over the mighty Imperial America.

In the next part of the conference, Lieutenant General Pham Tuan, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, reviewed the 45-year history of the “Dien Bien Phu in the air” victory. He shared more details about the fierce and heroic fighting spirit of the Air Defense and Air Force service and the army and people of Hanoi and neighboring provinces. He also told lively stories about combats where he and his teammates shot down B52 fortresses of the Imperial America. Lieutenant General Pham Tuan once again affirmed that “Dien Bien Phu in the air” victory was one of the turning points of our resistance war against America, greatly contributing to the final victory that liberated the south and unified the country.
