Musical night to commemorate Claude Debussy in Hanoi

Claude Debussy, being a representative composer in the impressionism French, is a great figure of European music at the late 19th century and the early 20th century. He was known for contributing to Franch music a number of memorable masterpieces which are mainly symphonies, chamber music and piano solo.

Many counries in the world organized the night concert on the occasion of  a centenary celerbration of French musican Claude Debussy. In Vietnam,  at the commemorating concert were the couple of piano-flute duet artists who are the talented female pianist Helene Jeanney and the flutist Nicolas Duchamp to participate in performances with the graceful style of presentation and the creative music being full in poetic.

The pianist Helene Jeanney used to achieve the highest prize in the prestigious competions such as Concours international Epinal, Robert Casadesus in Cleveland, Coccours Thomas Richnerest…; she is a sensitive female artist with the unbeatable style of  performance, and her admirable talent. She have also performed on tours throughout Europe, Australia and the US, and  attended in many Music Intenational Festivals around the world.

The flutist Nicolas Duchamp was the champion of  Markneunenkirchen competition and Concours international in Vienna; and now he is the most prominent flutist on the French classical music stage. He is also the main flute player in the Orchestra National Theater Opera-comique in Paris; and is regularly invited to perform as soloists of the best orchestras in the world.

In the night of music in Vietnam, two talented musicians will perform 6 French auditorium masterpieces of the brightest musican in the impressionism French: Clasude Debussy, Gabriel Faure, Francis Poulenc, Olivier Meianen. These are: “Syrinx,” “Prelude to the Afternoon of  a Faun,” ” Island of Happiness”  written by Debussy; the sonatas for flute and piano written by Francis Poulenc; and especially “ The blackbird” by Olivier Messiaen…

The concert will take place at the meeting-hall of the Franch Cultural Center, Ho Chi Minh city in the evening of 25, May, 2018; and the Franch Cultural Center 24 Trang Tien , Hanoi in the evening of 26, May, 2018.
