Preserving traditional culture
The plan focuses on implementing 8 contents, in which, in addition to promulgating implementation documents, the plan also focus on building a cultural family through improving the quality of judging the title of cultural family, strictly following the process of registration, commenting and recognition of the title of Cultural Family; include the criteria of gender equality and non-violent families in the assessment of cultural family titles in order to achieve the goal of a prosperous, progressive, happy and civilized family. With the work of domestic violence prevention and control, the plan will diversify forms of propaganda to raise awareness and responsibility for gender equality and fight against gender-based violence; replicating and maintaining domestic violence prevention and control models; promoting inter-sectoral cooperation on domestic violence prevention and control. Propaganda and education on family life ethics will be focused through the implementation of the Code of Conduct in the Family, and communication campaigns. Response activities in various forms will be organized associated with International Day of Happiness (March 20), Vietnam Family Day (June 28), National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control, Child Action Month (June); World Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls (November 25); Action month for gender equality and prevention, prevention and response to gender-based violence, with the goal of being effective, creative, thrifty, pervasive, and appropriate to the actual situation. The plan has the intention of organizing training and professional development courses on knowledge and skills on family work and domestic violence prevention and control for collaborators at all levels. The implementation will be periodically checked and monitored. Violations of the law in the families would be strictly handled. Communication and dissemination of education, policies and laws on family building and domestic violence prevention and control would be strengthened, too.

The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports is tasked with presiding over and coordinating with relevant units to advise and submit to the City People’s Committee to issue a plan to implement content on family work and violence prevention in the city under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. The Department would actively propagate and organize communication activities in various forms to respond to the International Day of Happiness (March 20); Vietnamese Family Day (June 28); National action month on domestic violence prevention and control; Child Action Month (June); World Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls (November 25). Conferences, seminars and training sessions on family building and domestic violence prevention and control are scheduled to be organized for cadres, civil servants and collaborators in family work and violence prevention and control force from the city to the facility. In addition, the Department would regularly guide, urge, and inspect the implementation of activities on family and domestic violence prevention and control at the grassroots, summarize the results periodically and report to the City People’s Committee, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism according to regulations./.
