On the afternoon of the 6th March, in Ha Noi, Viet Nam Association of Journalism in coordination with the Central Committee for Propaganda and Education, the Ministry of Information and Coomunication, the Ministry of Culture, sports and Tourism, Ha Noi People’s Committee held a press briefing to introduce the national press festival – 2017 under the title: “Viet Nam’s press side by side with the country’s renovation”.
On hand at the media briefing were Mr. Vuong Duy Bien, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Ho Quang Loi, Permanent Deputy Chairman of Viet Nam Association of Journalism; Mr. Mai Duc Loc, Deputy Chairman of Viet Nam Association of Journalism, together with many other reporters and newsmen from the central and local to come to cover the event.

The national press festival – 2017 aimed to significantly celebrate year- round major events and country’s achievements in the procees of renovation; highlight the strong growth and outstanding performances of Viet Nam’ press and media; promote press products made by journalists in the entire country; step up exchanges and meetings beween newsmakers and the public, hence encouraging them to fulfil their functions and tasks in meeting an ever increasing demand of people for information. At the same time, The national press festival – 2017 was a chance to commend and recognize the positive contributions made by the units, organizations, individuals and businesses to the cause of revolutionary journalism.

The national press festival – 2017 was organized on a national scale, with a large participation of news agencies and all-level associations of jounalism in the whole country, with various activities such as display of printed materials of Spring issue and other selected ones of 2016, and that of the 1st quarter of 2017.
Speaking at the press briefing, Mr. Ho quang Loi, Permanent Deputy Chairman of Viet Nam Association of Journalism said, The national press festival – 2017 would for the first time ward 36 prizes of excellent reportage on the theme of environment of 2016, including: Prize for printed newspapers; prize for electronic newspapers; prize for TV; prize for radios and prize for pictorial magazines. At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee would present 15 prizes to impressive booth; 15 prizes for attractive cover page of Tet newspapers issue; 10 equally ranked prizes for beautiful interface of the electronic newspapers – Tet issue, 10 other equally ranked prizes for impressive format of TV programme on Tet occassion.

The national press festival – 2017 would take place from 17 – 19 March, 2017 at the building of Viet Nam Association of Journalism, Duong Dinh Nghe road, Cau Giay district, Ha Noi city.
