Practically celebrating the 45th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2020); the 134th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1) and the 66th anniversary of historic Dien Bien Phu Victory Day (May 7, 1954 – May 7, 2020), Hanoi will organize many decorative and visual propaganda activities to aim at widely propagating to a wide range of people about the value, historical significance and spirit of great national solidarity, promoting patriotism and self-reliance, affirming the correct and wise leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh for the revolutionary career of the Vietnamese nation, contributed to consolidating the people’s belief in the Party and Government.
Accordingly, Hanoi will promote visual propaganda in the inner city, the city center and main roads including fixed panels, 2 and 3-sided panel clusters, panels at offices of the City Party Committee, the People’s Council, the City People’s Committee and related offices; clusters of symbolic models on junctions in front of the Opera House, the Square in front of the State Bank, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace; about 2,000 banners along the main roads and downtown areas; the National Flags, Party Flags and Red Flags in the column system in front of Ly Thai To statue’s area, the City People’s Committee and the State Bank; flag racks on main roads, main streets, downtown areas, Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ly Thai To statue’s area, City People’s Committee and around Hoan Kiem Lake; the system of banners, advertising boards, and LED screens to carry out propaganda for public holidays and celebrations in the city. It is expected to organize photo exhibitions with the content of propagating for holidays and celebrations at the City Exhibition House.
At the grassroots level, the People’s Committees of districts and towns based on the City’s Plan will direct the respective Offices of Culture and Sports and Centers for Culture, Information and Sports of the districts and towns, in developing specific plans to ensure the synchronization and scheduling; advocate people to hang the national flags which ensure solemnity and safety (according to the Hanoi People’s Committee announcement); organize the visual propaganda according to the content and samples of propaganda pictures approved by all levels, focusing on the central areas of the locality, main roads, headquarters offices, agencies, businesses, schools, public cultural sites, and places where many people pass by; organize traditional rooms, galleries and exhibitions of paintings, and propaganda photos to celebrate holidays and serve the people. The grassroots radio stations will enhance the news and broadcasting time for propaganda about holidays and celebrations, contributing to a jubilant atmosphere on the anniversary and excitement among the people.
Activities of decoration and visual propaganda will take place from April 22 to May 10, 2020.
