“Welcoming 2020 – Spring Messages” was a special performance art show by the Youth Theater to welcome the lunar of Canh Ty 2020. The show was aimed at bringing to the audience a fresh, vibrant atmosphere through special artistic gifts and meaningful spring messages.

“Welcoming 2020 – Spring Messages” was fresh and well-prepared, providing several singing and dancing performances in celebration of the spring along with entertaining and meaningful plays.

With the performances by young artists Hoang Nga, Ton Son, Kien Trung, Phuong Thao, Thien Ha, To Hai Ninh and the Youth Theater’s dancers, the audience was able to enjoy popular and catchy songs, such as “Don Tet que huong” (Chau Dang Khoa), “Tet xua Tet nay” (Ho Trong Tuan), “Tet den that roi” (Huynh Hien Nang), “Tet dong day” (Nguyen Khoa), “De Mi noi cho ma nghe” (DTAP), “Mua hoa tro lai” (Vu Minh Tam), “Vui nhu Tet” (Chau Dang Khoa), and so on.

In between the singing and dancing performances were three comedy plays written by author Dinh Tien Dung and staged by Meritorious Artist Chi Trung. The three plays that were first performed on the stage of the Youth Theater were “Nha hoang (Abandoned house)”, “Quan lon chia lon (How the great mandarins divide the pig)”, and “Hiep hoi nhung nguoi khon (Association of the wise)”.

Quan lon chia lon (How the great mandarins divide the pig) was inspired by folk tales, bringing out laughter from audience with the story about a commune chief and a district governor competing over a pig gifted by the people for the Tet holiday. “Nha hoang (Abandoned house)” and “Hiep hoi nhung nguoi khon (Association of the wise)” had modern themes. “Nha hoang (Abandoned house)” touched the audience with the story of homeless people living in an abandoned house celebrating the Tet holiday. “Hiep hoi nhung nguoi khon (Association of the wise)” was about some farmers who produced harmful foods to sell in the market to get huge profits. The play warned the audience about selfishness held by those thinking only of their immediate benefits and forgetting the health and safety of the community and society. The plays were performed by familiar artists from the Youth Theater: Van Dung, Thanh Tu, An Ninh, Thanh Duong, Tu Oanh, Chi Huy, and many more.

“Welcoming 2020 – Spring Messages” will air at 8 PM on February 1, 2020 (the 8th of the first lunar month of the year of Canh Ty) and will continue to be performed at the theatre (11 Ngo Thi Nham, Hanoi) on weekends. The show is a meaningful artistic gift to the audience of the Capital City in celebration of the spring of 2020.
