A report summarizing the development process of the 10-year Summary Project of the implementation of Resolution No. 08-NQ/TW of the Politburo on physical training and sports, the Department of Social Affairs, the Central Propaganda Department shows:
On December 1, 2011, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 08-NQ/TW on “Strengthening the leadership of the Party, creating a strong development in physical training and sports until 2020”. After 10 years of implementing the Resolution, physical training and sports have achieved important results. Awareness of Party committees and authorities at all levels of leadership and direction for the cause of physical training and sports has been raised. State management of physical training and sports has undergone many changes. The professionalism in the management and operation of sports activities is gradually enhanced. The socialization of physical training and sports has been promoted, strongly promoting companies and enterprises with big brands in the world to participate in the investment, production, business, and supply of sports goods and services. The domestic sports market develops strongly. The work of physical education and sports in schools has had a change. The mass physical training and sports movement has developed quite extensively, the basic targets have been completed and exceeded the set plan. Performance in regional, continental and world sports events continues to be improved. International cooperation in physical training and sports has been expanded and deepened.
However, the work of physical training and sports still has limitations, not meeting the requirements of the new situation. The work of leading and directing the implementation of Resolution No. 08-NQ/TW is still slow, without close coordination; the allocation of investment resources for physical training and sports is still low. The state management of physical training and sports is slow to innovate, lacks a professional sports development management mechanism. There are no appropriate institutions and policies to develop the sports economy. Social and socio-professional organizations are not strong enough to manage and run professional activities. Regimes and policies for athletes and sports coaches are still inadequate. Training conditions, quality of physical training and sports services are still low….
At the seminar, opinions focused on guidelines, policies and development of physical training and sports in the coming time; promoting the renewal of physical training and sports management in the direction of professionalism; formulating strategies, planning, programs and projects on physical training and sports development in the coming time; building and managing the grassroots physical training and sports network to improve people’s health; orientation of innovative methods of physical training and sports management in schools; application of science and technology, digital transformation in the field of physical training and sports; on the content of sports economic development…
Appreciating the comments at the seminar, Mr. Phung Xuan Nha said that the Central Propaganda Department will absorb the suggestions to build a closer, more concise, and more concise report with more specific figures to be able to assess the impact of the Resolution before its promulgation and 10 years after its implementation. The Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department also hopes that the new Resolution will be issued by Politburo to create a strong development for Vietnamese sports.
