In the letter of appeal, choreographer Tuyet Minh mentioned that she has recently witnessed and understood the rigorousness, difficulty, and challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic time, associated with anxieties, losses, and sacrifices. The whole country is joining hands together in the fight against the pandemic, in particular, the silent devotion of the frontline forces is highly appreciated.
Doctors, nurses, and medical staff are trying at every moment to cure Covid-19 patients. Soldiers, police, and volunteer forces are working hard in the frontline. It’s heartwarming to see free rice, vegetable, noodle, and meal servings being delivered to quarantine areas and field hospitals, but on the other hand, it’s so sad to see many people are facing difficulty, the number of patients and deaths in the whole country considerably fluctuates, and the common anxiety and concern become bigger.
“As an insider, a citizen, and a dancer, I kindly request you all, choreographers and dancers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, to contribute your creative intelligence, and work hard together to create the suite of dances “Light of the soul”, choreographer Tuyet Minh wrote in the appeal letter.
She believes that the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic of the whole Party and people will be recorded in history. Therefore, gorgeous artwork is required to demonstrate the sacrifices and dedication of the frontline forces and praise the spirit of solidarity and mutual affection of the nation by using the image of simple and rustic people. At the same time, the artwork aims to honor Vietnam’s achievements in “the fight against the pandemic like the fight against an enemy” when Covid-19 has been and will be, a common concern of the whole world. As a “spiritual vaccine”, art will help us to “distance but not be apart from one another”.

“The mission of the artist and the power of art is to spread the good and humane things, optimistic spirit, and the will to win the pandemic together. Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and the whole country will have a strong revival” – emphasized choreographer Tuyet Minh.
It is known that the suite of dances “Light of the soul” is artistically directed by People’s Artist Pham Anh Phuong and scripted and generally directed by choreographer Tuyet Minh. It is choreographed, rehearsed, and performed online for an expected duration of 45 minutes.
