Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Chu Xuan Dung City handed over the flag to Director of Do Dinh Hong Department of Culture and Sports at the ceremony of the Hanoi Sports Union to attend the Ninth National Sports Festival.
Attending the ceremony were: Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People’s Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Tenth Capital Sports Festival Chu Xuan Dung; the General Director of the General Department for Sports and Physical (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Dang Ha Viet; Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Deputy Head of the Standing Organizing Committee of the Tenth Capital Sports Festival Do Dinh Hong; Deputy Head of the Hanoi Department of Propaganda Dinh Thi Lan Duyen, leaders of districts, departments, sectors and a large number of coaches, athletes of Hanoi sports attending the mobilizing ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Do Dinh Hong affirmed: “The Tenth Capital Sports Festival was a great success in all aspects. All levels of committees, authorities and sectors have been caring and directing and successfully completing the plan to organize the Sports Festival at all levels with effective quality, attracting nearly 1 million participants. The Festival created a wide movement of health training among the people, improving the quality of the movement “All people trained their bodies following the example of the great Uncle Ho”; “Be healthy to build and protect the country”. The opening ceremony of the Sports Festival at the facilities was carried out according to the procedures in the spirit of ensuring safety, thrift and solemnity. The number of people participating in the performance and parade to demonstrate the force in 30 districts, towns was more than 400,000 people.

The Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Do Dinh Hong said that thanks to the initiative in the implementation plan, many units have organized district festivals with high quality in both expertise and organizing an effective opening ceremony such as Thanh Tri, Tay Ho, Ha Dong, Nam Tu Liem, Phuc Tho, Thach That, Hai Ba Trung, Gia Lam, Cau Giay, Hoang Mai, Dong Anh…
Along with the districts, sectors; unions, groups have actively organized sports associations according to the new model, such as division of areas, emulation clusters… for the organization’s management, thereby creating a playground to the grassroots level, attracting a large number of people to participate, exchange and learn from each other, in order to strengthen the maintenance of physical fitness, health, community cohesion, such as: Public Security, Labor Union, Farmers Association, Women Union… This is an important premise for Hanoi city to organize the 10th Capital Sports Festival.
The Ninth National Sports Festival took place from December 9 to December 21, 2022, in Quang Ninh and 10 other provinces and cities including: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hoa Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Vinh Phuc. With the available potential of training and competition systems, facilities and experience in successfully organizing the 31st SEA Games in 2022 and the 8th National Sports Festival in 2018, Hanoi City is honored to continue to be mandated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to host 7 sports in the Festival program including: men’s futsal football; iron balls; wrestling; judo; kurash; bowling and billiards & snooker.
Director of Department of Culture and Sports Do Dinh Hong added that towards the ninth National Sports Festival, Hanoi Sports Union participated in 42 competitions out of a total of 43 sports in the Festival program, with a total of 1,359 people, including union leaders, supervisory managers, experts, interpreters, coaches, athletes, doctors… In addition, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi has directed Hanoi sports teams at the competition venues, proactively arranging accommodation, in order to create the best conditions for the Hanoi athletes to compete for the highest performance.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the Tenth Capital Sports Festival announced the decision on praising and awarding prizes to the collectives and individuals who achieved achievements in the Tenth Capital Sports Festival.
