 Olympic running day for public health in Hanoi City is associated with the launching ceremony of Hanoimoi Newspaper Run.

However, due to the complicated and unpredictable COVID-19 pandemic, the General Department of Physical Training and Sports proposed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Culture and Sports of the provinces and cities under the Central Government and concerned units shall delay the time for organizing the Olympic Running Day for public health to an appropriate time.

Olympic Running Day for public health in the period 2020-2030 is a large-scale sports activity, held annually, attracting the great attention of the people throughout the country. However, due to the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, on the large-scale Olympic Running Day, the large concentration of people will have a high chance of infection.
This is the 6th year that the Physical training and sports industry implements this activity and is one of the key activities of mass sports in 2020. Accordingly, the Olympic Running Day for public health in 2020 will be held at the same time at communes, wards, towns, public places in the area, convenient for the work of gathering people involved. The target of striving to reach over 85% of the total number of communes, wards and towns nationwide to organize the Olympic Running Day for public health. The Department of Physical Training and Sports has developed a plan for implementation since the beginning of the year and has also received a plan to organize the running day of some localities.

This is a meaningful sports activity to promote the movement of regular physical training among the entire population, to all subjects in society: armed forces, police; student; workers, farmers, etc. from children to the elderly.

Earlier, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, many sporting events across the country had to be delayed.
