In 2017, the cultural and communication work was implemented seriously in Thanh Oai district. The district has carried out effectively the propaganda in service of political tasks and national holidays and celebrations of the country and the capital. Socialization has been strengthened with the raised funding of more than VND 1 billion..
Regarding the preservation of cultural heritage and promotion of the values of relics, the district guided the communes, towns and management boards of relics in term of the restoration, embellishment and promotion of the values of the historical and cultural relics in the area, applied for the urgent repair policy of 28 relics; submitted proposal on national ranking of 3 relics to the competent authorities for consideration; proposed to upgrade the Noi temple (Binh Da) relic into a special national one, made planning of Binh Da festival space; appraised 7 profiles qualified for the recognition of excellent artists … The management and organization of festivals were implemented in the respectful, safe and thrifty manner. Participating the competition of wrapping and cooking square sticky rice cake (Chung cake) and braying round sticky rice cake in Hung Kings’ Temple festival, The artist team of Tan Uoc commune won 01 first prize of braying round sticky rice cake and a second prize of wrapping and cooking Chung cake.
In the management of cultural activities and services, the district has received 13 applications of art teams from provinces and cities for art performance in the district. The district also directed the concerned units to perform the state management regarding public art performance activities; strengthened the state management of advertising activities, especially the inspection and processing of violating adverstising boards, signs and advertisement panels, contributing to ensure the safety of traffic corridors and urban beauty, coordinated in construction of key street of advertisement, signs and signboards in Kim Bai Street, and expand such construction to other communes in the whole district.
The “All people’s unification to build a cultural life” movement was widespread in the district, as the result, there are 46 villages honored as “cultural villages”, increasing the total number of “cultural villages” in the district to 93/118 villages, reaching 98.93% of the city’s plan; 52 agencies honored as “Cultural Unit”, increasing the total number of “cultural units” in the district to 62/150 units, reaching 41.3%; 01 enterprise honored as “Cultural standard Satisfied Enterprise” and 01 more commune honored as ” Cultural Standard Satisfied Commune for New Rural Area”.
In 2018, the district strive for 87.7% of households to be honored as cultural families; 80% of the to be honored as cultural villages; 80% of units to be honored as cultural unit;s increasing by two villages which are honored as the cultural villages of health standard and by three communes meeting the cultural standard for new rural areas.
Regarding preservation and promotion of value of traditional cultural and historical relics, the district continue to guide the communes and towns, where the relics have not been ranked, to apply for the relic-ranking consideration and recognition by the superior authorities, repair, renovation and embellishment of degraded cultural and historical relics as prescribed; guides the establishments to effectively implement projects on restoration and renovation of relics in accordance with the Law on Cultural Heritage, implement the socialization programs, mobilize all resources for conservation and anti-degradation of historical and cultural relics and the protection of cultural heritages; strengthens the management of the festivals; coordinates with the inter-branch inspection team of the district to continue checking and reminding the business households of cultural services business to comply with the law, handle the breaches in relation with the activity, ensure the healthy cultural environment.
At the summation conference of cultural and communication work in 2017, many collectives and individuals have received the rewards of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the City People’s Committee and the People’s Committee of Thanh Oai district.
