To celebrate the 132th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and welcome the 31st SEA Games held in Vietnam, on May 18, 2022, at the Center for Culture, Information and Sports of Dong Anh district, the People’s Committee of Dong Anh district held a traditional pigeon release contest 19/5.
The traditional pigeon release contest 19/5 of Dong Anh district was organized after 2 years of hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so the atmosphere of the contest was very cheerful and exciting and attracted more flocks of pigeons participating than in previous years. After the opening of the contest, the leaders of Dong Anh district participated in releasing 5 flocks of pigeons, expressing the human desire for peace and to conquer nature. After that, the contest took place with 184 flocks of pigeons of owners from the bird releasing clubs in Dong Anh district, clubs in Soc Son district (Hanoi city), clubs in districts: Yen Phong, Phu Khe, Hiep Hoa, Tu Son city – Bac Ninh province.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded the Special Prize to the flock number 83 of Mr. Thuan Van Mon, the First Prize to the flock number 114 of Mr. Le Van Oai, the Second Prize to the flock number 62 of Mr. Ngo Van Quy and the Third Prize for the flock number 41 of Mr. Do Chi Cuong./.
