On the 19th anniversary of Vietnamese Family Day, the People’s Committee of Ung Hoa district issued the Plan No. 89/KH-UBND on May 16, 2020, on organizing activities to celebrate the 19th anniversary of Vietnamese Family Day (June 28, 2001 – June 28, 2020) from June 14 to the end of June 28. The District People’s Committee directed the propaganda on the topic “Preserving and promoting the culture and tradition of good behaviour within the family”, imparting each family and each family member the importance of preserving and promoting the culture and tradition of good behaviour within the family to build a progressive, happy and sustainable family. Besides, extensive propaganda is carried out on the mass media and via communication activities on the Plan No. 81-KH/HU dated November 10, 2014, of the District Party Committee to implement Hanoi City Party Committee’s Action Program in connection with the implementation of the Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW dated June 9, 2014, of the Central Executive Committee (11th session) on “Building and developing culture and people of the Capital to meet the requirements of sustainable development of the country”, and the Directive No. 36/CT-TU of Hanoi City Party Committee on strengthening population – family planning work in the industrialization – modernization period.

Besides, other activities have been organized: continuing to promote the building of cultural families, focusing on ensuring and improving the quality of the title “Cultural Family”; including the criteria on gender equality and non-violent families in the consideration of the title “Cultural Family”; prohibiting prenatal sex selection and discrimination in families with children being girls only to achieve the goal of the family with few children, prosperity, equality, progress, happiness and sustainability; organizing cultural – art and fitness – sports activities to celebrate the 19th anniversary of Vietnamese Family Day. The District People’s Committee assigns the District Center for Culture, Information and Sports to organize family sports tournaments such as badminton, table tennis competitions. People’s Committees of communes and towns guide and direct villages and residential groups to organize public art performance show to create a joyful atmosphere to celebrate the Vietnamese Family Day on June 28.

The activities are organized to honor the good traditional cultural values ​​of Vietnamese families.
