Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam receives relic information boards awarded by Australian goverment

On the morning of 17th January, at the relic of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu giam, The 45th celebration of  the diplomatic relations between Australia and Viet Nam was started, which was marked by the launch of an official logo of the commemorative year and the awarding ceremony of 09 relic information boards presented by the Australian government.

“Viet Nam is one of the most important partners of Australia in the Indian ocean and pacific regions. Our both countries have built up a strong partnership for 45 years and this relationship is developing in multifaceted areas, which includes: politics, economic development, security cooperation and creative innovation” – H.E Mr. Craig Chittick, Australian ambassador to Viet Nam said.

The official logo used in the commemorative year is a combination of the two famous ones of Australia and Viet Nam, that is the Opera Sydney and Viet Nam national flag’s star. The logo maker is Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, aged 24, an amateur designer, related that his first memory of Australia and the success of Viet Nam national team in Olympic Sydney 2000 were the very inspiration for him to make this logo.

H.E. Mr. Craig Chittick is presenting a token relic introduction board to Mr. Le Xuan Kieu, Director of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam.

Mr. Truong Minh Tien, Deputy Director of Ha Noi Department of Culture and Sports said: “Every year, Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam have received millions of visitors and tourists. To be able to help visitors gain access to the historical values of the relic, it is necessary to have a system of the relic information board. The Australian government’s transfer of the information boards to Vawn Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam will contribute to further meeting the requirements arising in the process of conservation and promotion of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam relic’s values”.
