In order to bring to visitors the typical values of the traditional Tet, the Hanoi Old Quarter’s Management Board held the Vietnamese Tet Holiday with many activities to look forward to the original point on the occasion of Dinh Dau 2017 Spring.

The program “Vietnamese Tet Holiday” in Hanoi Old Quarter will include many activities in many places which are famous relics until the end of 12/02/2017.

In Kim Ngan Communal House (42-44 Hang Bac): Three kinds of folk paintings including Hang Trong paintings, Kim Hoang paintings, Dong Ho paintings. After many years of absence, Kim Hoang paintings will be introduced back to the public, with traditional paintings and some new paintings in Kim Hoang paintings style. Most prominent is the Than Ke painting (often called as Ga Trong). The Than Ke painting is made in large size of 2.2 × 0.6m.

At the Heritage House (No. 87 Ma May Street): Enjoy the Photos exhibition of the ancient Tet holiday by the Institute of Social Sciences Information of Vietnam and experience the space to welcome Tet holiday of a typical ancient Hanoi family.

For those who love Calligraphy,  they can visit the Old Quarter Heritage Information Centre (No. 28 Hang Buom) for enjoy a calligraphy, folk paintings performance and the ‘Dai Viet Culture’ with the exhibit of traditional pattern products.

At the Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center (No. 50 Dao Duy Tu): The space arrangement activity for ancient Tet holiday in the traditional house of the Northern Delta.

In addition, the Old Quarter Management Board also organized traditional music performances at the relic sites in the Old Quarter at 20:00 to 22:00, from 29/01 to 01/02/2017 (from 2 to 5, Dinh Dau Tet holiday).

The “Vietnamese Tet Holiday” program in Hanoi Old Quarter promises to create a meaningful and attractive space for people and visitors when visiting Hanoi. At the same time, this activity is also aimed at preserving and honoring traditional cultural values, bringing to visitors, especially young people the typical values of traditional Tet holiday of ancient Hanoians and suburban areas.
