The town has issued leadership and direction resolutions; develop a plan for organizing the implementation of conservation and promotion of cultural heritage values ​​in the area: Directive No. 27-CT/TU dated March 5, 2008 of the Standing Board of Son Tay Town Party Committee on “ Strengthening leadership and management of historical and cultural relics and belief establishments in Son Tay town”; Resolution No. 08/NQ-TU dated February 8, 2017 on “Strengthening the management, conservation and promotion of the value of historical and cultural relics associated with economic development, tourism and town services in the period  2017 -2020 and the following years”, thematic Resolution No. 24-NQ/TU on strengthening leadership and directing the management, conservation and promotion of the value of the relics of Duong Lam ancient village; Resolution No. 12-NQ/TU dated June 1, 2021 on strengthening the management, conservation and promotion of the value of historical and cultural relics, associated with the town’s economic and tourism development in the period 2021 – 2025, orientation to 2030”…

Concerned about the preservation of valuable relics in the area, the town’s People’s Committee has actively directed and guided the establishment to carry out the work of making documents and proposing to rank valuable local relics. In the period 2011-2020, 12 relics ranked at the city level in the township, 1 relic ranked at national level; signs of 5 revolutionary relics and souvenir relics were attached. There were 78 intangible cultural heritages in the town, such as the Va temple festival recognized as the national intangible cultural heritage, ancient Duoi range in Duong Lam, 90 ancient trees of the Va temple And recognized by the Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment as Vietnamese heritage tree. Currently, the town is completing the dossier for ranking 5 city-level relics (Ky Son pagoda; Tam Son pagoda; Tien Kieu temple – Xuan Son commune); proposing to upgrade the national ranking for relics Mang Son Temple, Son Dong Communal House, Son Trung Communal House – Son Dong Commune. The town has planned to preserve and promote the value of Duong Lam ancient village relic, which has been approved and put into practice; dossiers have been prepared for adjustment of planning for zoning and protection of relics of Duong Lam ancient village to request competent agencies for approval.

Relics are associated with festivals. Son Tay currently has 65 traditional festivals, including major festivals, attracting a large number of local people and surrounding areas to attend such as Va Temple Festival (Trung Hung Ward), Mang Son Temple Festival (Son Dong commune), the death anniversary of King Phung Hung, King Ngo Quyen (Duong Lam commune)… Every year, the town issues documents to direct, manage and organize festivals in the area. Festivals in the area are organized according to regulations and traditional rituals; take place safely, meet healthy spiritual needs, create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for the People.

The promotion and introduction of historical and cultural relics are interested through many channels such as the town’s portal, the website of Duong Lam ancient village, the mass media and visual propaganda. The promotion and introduction have focus, such as celebrating Vietnam’s Heritage Day, a major local festival, a ceremony to receive the title of Intangible Cultural Heritage…, thereby, bringing the relics to more people, creating an attraction and connection between the monuments and visitors everywhere.

In the coming time, the town will focus on implementing Resolution No. 12-NQ/TU dated June 1, 2021, of the Standing Board of the Town Party Committee on strengthening the management, conservation and promotion of the value of historical and cultural relics associated with economic and tourism development of the town in the period of 2021 – 2025, orientation to 2030”.
