Recently, at the Community Centre of Mong Phu Village – Duong Lam Commune, the People’s Committee of Son Tay Town held a seminar to get opinions of Duong Lam residents on the “Supporting agricultural, commercial and service economic development associated with Duong Lam ancient village tourism program, period 2017 – 2020, orientation to 2030” scheme

According to the draft scheme, organizations and individuals participating in the programs and projects will be assisted in the development of trade and services; infrastructure for trade and services; development of agricultural production and food safety such as propagating and promoting the image of the ancient village, developing a number of traditional crafts and new products for tourists, setting up handicraft village product and ancient tourism product introduction points, economic development points, and rural markets, etc. The contents of support are to improve people’s lives and the adaptability of people and enterprises to develop production and business in association with tourism development inDuong Lam commune, step by step turning Duong Lam ancient village into a key place to attract domestic and foreign tourists and an international tourist village.

At the seminar, people most concerned about matters like supporting shops of traditional products such as confectionery and chicken; building a memorial to display traditional products; developing vegetable, flower, and maize growing models serving tourists; and investing in eco-tourism, etc.
After the seminar, the Town People’s Committee continues to seek the opinions of scientists, experts, enterprises, tourists and locals to synthesize and modify the scheme before applying it in practice.
