Carrying out the tasks assigned by the City People’s Committee, from November 26 to November 30, 2022, Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports organized a delegation to participate in “The space converging the Quintessence of intangible cultural heritage representing regions” within the framework of Bac Lieu Culture – Tourism Festival and Da Co Hoai Lang Festival in 2022.
Hanoi city participated in the event with the intangible cultural heritage Ca Tru. The intangible cultural heritage Ca Tru has a special position in the traditional music treasure of Vietnam, associated with festivals, customs, beliefs, literature, thought and life philosophy of the Vietnamese people. This art form was very popular in cultural life in Vietnam since the early twentieth century back in the past. On October 1, 2009, Ca Tru was inscribed on UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in need of urgent protection of humanity. As one of the “cradles” of Vietnamese Ca Tru, Thang Long – Hanoi has always been the golden land of Ca Tru art through various stages of development. Hanoi is the locality with the largest number of Artists awarded the honorary title of People’s Artist and Elite Artist by the President of the country in the field of intangible cultural heritage, including Ca Tru performance art. The number of Artists through 03 consecration times in 2015, 2019 and 2022 is 32 Ca Tru Artists (08 People’s Artists and 24 Elite Artists). They are people who especially love Ca Tru and participate in 16 Ca Tru Clubs in the city, always aspire and dedicate a lot of effort in preserving this precious art of the nation.
This is an opportunity for localities to exchange, learn and exchange experiences to effectively preserve and promote the value of intangible cultural heritages with tourism development. At the same time, it thereby helps tighten affection and strengthen linkages and cooperation in various fields, including culture and tourism between Bac Lieu province and Hanoi city.

The space converging quintessence of intangible cultural heritage representing regions in Bac Lieu province was organized from November 27-29, 2022 at Hung Vuong Square, Cao Van Lau Theater, Bac Lieu City by the People’s Committee of Bac Lieu province with the participation of provinces and cities with intangible cultural heritages that have been recognized by UNESCO such as: Cultural Heritage of Gongs in the Central Highlands, heritage of Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs, Ca Tru heritage, Don Ca Tai Tu art heritage in the South, Bai Choi art heritage in Central Vietnam, Cheo singing heritage, Xam singing heritage and other art forms of Khmer people… from Hanoi city and the provinces of Gia Lai, Bac Ninh, Quang Nam, Phu Yen, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, etc.
Artists of Hanoi delegation are the one who have been protecting, preserving, teaching and promoting the value of the intangible cultural heritage of Hanoi Ca Tru for many years. They are from the Ca Tru Clubs in the city such as Thai Ha Ca Tru Club (Elite Artist Nguyen Van Khue, Elite Artist Nguyen Thuy Hoa), Phu Thi Ca Tru Club (Artists Dinh Hoang, Thuy Linh, Kim Ngoc), Thang Long Ca Tru Club (Artist Thu Thuy), Hoa Huu Ca Tru Club (Elite Artist Doan Van Huu).

On the afternoon of November 27, within the framework of the Bac Lieu Culture and Tourism Festival and the Da Co Hoai Lang Festival 2022, at Cao Van Lau Theater, “The space converging the Quintessence of intangible cultural heritage representing regions” was officially opened. Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Vo Van Dung, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee for Internal Affairs; Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ms. Le Thi Ai Nam, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Pham Van Thieu, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and representatives of the General Department of Tourism, the Mekong Delta Tourism Association; representatives of leaders of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region and a large number of artists of provinces and cities, etc.

Within the framework of the program, the Hanoi delegation performed at the central stage of Hung Vuong Square and at the heritage space of Hanoi city. The artists of Hanoi city troupe have staged the program meticulously, seriously, performed and introduced the unique Ca Tru tunes to the audience of Bac Lieu, other provinces and tourists.
This was the first time the people of Bac Lieu province have learned and enjoyed Ca Tru. At the exhibition and introduction space of the intangible cultural heritage of Hanoi Ca Tru, the members of the delegation actively performed, introduced and promoted Ca Tru heritage in particular and many unique cultural heritages of Ha Noi city, leaving good impressions and emotions to the people and visitors at the event./.
