The festival to celebrate 231st anniversary of the Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da victory (1789-2020) associated with the name and career of Emperor Quang Trung. This is a festival praising one of the greatest and most glorious feats in the history of the fight against foreign invaders of our nation, ending the Trinh-Nguyen period of division that lasted for 2 centuries. Incense-offering ceremony commemorates Emperor Quang Trung – who 231 years ago, on the afternoon of the 5th of the Ky Dau Lunar New Year, led the army to enter Thang Long citadel, crushing the invasion dream of the Thanh army, liberating the country, keeping firmly national independence. 231 years have passed, the victory of Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da associated with the name and the career of the King of cloth and peach flag has become a shining example typical for intelligence and military art of Vietnam, representing the patriotic tradition, the nation’s fierce fighting spirit against foreign aggression when the strength of the popularity has been mobilized, the national interests are paramount.

On behalf of the Party Committee, Government and People of Dong Da District, Chairman of the District People’s Committee, Mr. Vo Nguyen Phong District reviewed the glorious feat of Quang Trung – Nguyen Hue Hero, who defeated more than 20,000 Manchu soldiers and enlarged Thang Long citadel, regained independence and freedom for the nation.
Chairman of Dong Da District People’s Committee, Mr. Vo Nguyen Phong affirmed: The victory of Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da marked the great military art of Emperor Quang Trung, the tenacious will of the army, and at the same time, represented the spirit of solidarity, patriotic tradition, love of freedom and independence from thousands of Vietnamese people. By this victory, our people have smashed the aggression dream of foreigners, upholding the nation’s independence and sovereignty. Following the heroic spirit of the victory of Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da, the thousand-year-old civilization tradition of Hero City, City of Peace, Dong Da government and people always strive to unite and strive to make the locality more and more developed.

At the 231st anniversary of the Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da victory, delegates performed the ritual of offering incense, offering flowers, listening to the blessing at the monument of Emperor Quang Trung. Earlier, a procession and sacrifice ceremony were held for Emperor Quang Trung and Queen Ngoc Han of the people of the wards.
