Over 28,000 turns of women in Ba Dinh district won the title “Good at country work – Perfect at housework” in the past 5 years

On the morning of July 10, Ba Dinh District Women’s Union held the 23rd Congress of Deputies, term 2021 – 2026 to evaluate the implementation of the Resolution of the 22nd District Women’s Congress; decide on goals, tasks and solutions for the 2021-2026 term.

Along with the development of Ba Dinh district, women in the whole district have been dynamic, creative, proactive, actively participating in emulation movements, effectively contributing to the socio-economic development of the district, maintaining political security, social order and safety in the area.

In the past 5 years, there have been over 28,000 women winning the title of “Good at country work – Perfect at housework”, 5,850 women winning the title of “good labor”, “good worker”, “advanced worker”, “Emulation fighters at grassroots level”, “Good people and good deeds” at all levels. 3,200 experiences and initiatives undertaken by women have been completed and applied to teaching and production, contributing to solving difficulties in production and business, and improving work efficiency.

The activities of gratitude, charity, and the rear of the army were actively responded to by cadres and women’s members of the district. In the past 5 years, the Association at all levels visited and supported the repair of 16 houses for policy families and poor women with a total value of VND 510 million. Pandemic prevention models such as “Warm meals”, “Stay at home together”, “Install automatic handwashing stations”, donating masks, pandemic prevention equipment, necessities for the force number of frontline workers and people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic with the amount of VND 1 billion & 241 million.

Activities to support women in economic development are focused and directed by the Association at all levels, effectively contributing to creating jobs and increasing incomes for members and women. Women’s Unions at all levels have exploited and managed VND 191 billion from the Bank for Social Policies to support 3,247 women members to access and effectively use loans for economic development and get rich (an increase of 185% compared to the beginning of the term, equivalent to VND 124 billion, accounting for 82% of the total debt balance through unions). In 5 years, 100% of poor and near-poor households headed by women have been helped, of which 257 households have escaped poverty/out of near-poor, 293 economically disadvantaged households have been helped to improve living standards (reached 157 % compared to the target set by the resolution) significantly contributed to the district’s poverty reduction results (reaching the finish line 2 years earlier than the Resolution of the 25th District Party Congress, term 2015 – 2020). Associations at all levels have consulted and introduced jobs to 4,074 workers for jobs and vocational training in the locality and the Center (on average, 815 employees are introduced annually, exceeding the target assigned by the Resolution of the General Meeting).

The environmental protection movement of the district Women’s Unions at all levels has had many positive changes. Many effective and practical self-management models have been maintained such as 95 models of “Flowers in the street”, 11 community playgrounds and 11 community playgrounds equipped with exercise machines; 03 models of “Eco-friendly waste collection team”, “Say no to plastic bags” women’s group, combined with the model “Volunteer family, volunteer community” and 15 models of anti-plastic waste. Regularly organize campaigns to clean up the environment in residential areas, the area around the lakes in the area, regularly maintain general cleaning on Saturday mornings as recognized and appreciated by the Party committees and authorities, contributing to the construction of a civilized urban landscape.

For the term 2021-2026, the District Women’s Union strives to achieve the target that 100% of women-owned near-poor households will be helped with conditions to improve living standards. Strive to keep no poor households as women members in the area (according to the new poverty line of the city). Each year, vocational training, job introduction for 500 employees (including 70% female workers), advocacy and support 10 women to start businesses, every year, mobilize and support 42 households to achieve the criteria of a happy civilized family, 5’s no 3’s clean, etc.

Women in Ba Dinh district continue to pay attention to advocacy solutions to support women to build a prosperous, progressive, happy and civilized family, which is truly the home of each member, especially caring for and educating children, building safe communities for women, children, and women should be the ones to build coziness for each house. Associations at all levels should continue to organize and guide women to implement policies on marriage and family, health care, protection of mothers and children, well organize family life, and prevent domestic violence, contribute to the good implementation of the Vietnam Family Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
