Accordingly, implementing the Resolution 08-NQ/TW dated December 1, 2011, by the Politburo and the Directive 10-CT/TU dated July 9, 2012, by the Standing Board of the Hanoi Party Committee “on strengthening the leadership of the Party, creating a strong development in physical training and sports in the capital until 2020”, up to now, the whole Thanh Tri district has 16 of 16 communes owning cultural houses, residential groups with a training ground for sports activities, amusement parks installing sports training equipment to serve the people’s training needs. Particularly, Tu Hiep and Dong My communes have cultural and sports centers with multi-function rooms for sports activities.
Thanh Tri also has 01 natural grass football field, 10 artificial grass football fields. The whole district has 01 swimming pool in the district center, 17 swimming pools in the school universal swimming for students and 03 private swimming pools. Notably, Thanh Tri currently has 80 sports clubs established with the number of sports activities reaching 514 lessons/ year.
According to statistics, currently, 45% of Thanh Tri people participate in regular sports practice, the percentage of families who regularly practice sports in the district reaches 35%. In addition, Thanh Tri’s sports teams participating in city and national competitions in recent years have won 597 medals of all kinds, including 404 gold medals.
Not only strongly developing sports clubs, but Thanh Tri is also a locality with cultural and artistic movements. Currently, in the district, there are about 30 clubs and mass performing teams with a total membership of more than 200 people. The average number of mass cultural activities is 336 lessons per year.
According to the leader of Thanh Tri district, in the coming time, the Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and political organizations from the district to grassroots will continue to strengthen the leadership of the Party in the development of physical training and sports; at the same time, direct and organize the more effective implementation of the campaign “All people exercise their bodies following the great Uncle Ho’s example” in association with the movement “All people unite to build cultural life”; build cultural institutions, physical training and sports, organize to learn from, replicate and promote good examples and bright spots in the implementation of sports activities in the district.
