In the morning of July 11, at the meeting hall of the building of Nam Tu Liem District’s Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee, the Summer Steering Committee of Nam Tu Liem District held the district-level final round of the Children’s Book Presenting Contest of summer 2017 with the theme “Children of the capital city with the attitude of showing gratitude to people with merits”.
Attending the contest were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Minh, Deputy Secretary of the District’s Party Committee and Chairman of the District’s People’s Council; Mr. Tran Thanh Long, Vice Chairman of the District’s People’s Committee and Chairman of the Summer Steering Committee; members of the District’s Standing Party Committee, Standing Board of the District’s People’s Council and People’s Committee; leaders of district-level offices, boards, sectors, organizations; leadership members of 10 ward-level People’s Committees, and nearly 300 child contestants from all over the district.
The 10 teams representing 10 wards at the contest all participated in 3 parts, namely greetings, book presenting, and talents. Besides the creative and unique introductions to the participating teams and the local reading movements, many other interesting and exciting performances also earned the cheers and appreciation from the judges and the audience, particularly the presentations of “The legend of young volunteers” of the team of Phu Do Ward, “Forever 20 years of age” of the team of My Dinh 2 Ward, “Those who live forever” of the team of Trung Van Ward, and the talent performances of “Lotus aroma” of the team of Xuan Phuong Ward, “Orchid flowers on the peak of Truong Bon” of the team of Phu Do Ward, and so on.
The contest created a helpful and interesting cultural space for children of Nam Tu Liem District in summer days. It was also a chance for the youth to review the heroic tradition of selfless sacrifice of the preceding generations in the struggle to defend and build the country, thus helping to teach them to value peace, cherish historical values, promote the nation’s moral tradition of showing gratitude to people with merits, and study and cultivate virtue to follow the preceding generations’ tradition to build a prosperous country and to contribute to the prosperity of the capital city and Nam Tu Liem District.
At the end of the contest, the organizers awarded an excellent prize to Phu Do Ward, a first prize to My Dinh 2 Ward, three second prizes to Xuan Phuong Ward, Trung Van Ward, Dai Mo Ward, and five third prizes to the rest of the wards.
