Taking place in 3 days (from January 10-12 ),  “Balade en France”, the largest French cuisine festival in Vietnam gathered more than 40 booths from hotels, restaurants and prestigious food and wines importers of France such as Press Club, Sofitel Legend Métropole Hanoi, Red Apron, Chocolat Marou, Saint Honoré, Lu, Fabrik… with typical dishes of French cuisine such as traditional pancakes,  mulled wine as well as cheeses, syrup, jam, pâté… and golden-hour offers for each brand. In addition to the food space, “Balade en France” also had booths to introduce New Year lacquer gifts, travel, study abroad… of domestic businesses and non-governmental organizations, which was very rich and interesting.

 “Balade en France” created an exciting music party.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, Chairman of Hanoi City People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung said that this was the second time the French Festival is held at the Ly Thai To flower garden area and near Hoan Kiem lake – the symbolic sign of Hanoi Capital – to introduce the people of the capital and domestic and international tourists about the cuisine and cultural values of France. The ancient Hanoi capital, with more than 1,000 years of age, at all times, preserves its diverse and identity-rich cultural traditions, of which French culture and language is an important part of the city’s development history. Up to now, French culture, cuisine and language have been loved and used by many Hanoians and continued to spread and expand. The city has also implemented many projects of cultural preservation cooperation, and strengthened the forms of communication in education – training and promotion of French culture to the people of the Capital and the whole country.

In December 2018, the French Festival 2018 program was first held in Hanoi to summarize the series of celebration activities for the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations and 5 years of the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France. The program has been very successful, bringing a good and memorable impression to the capital’s residents and visitors enjoying the famous French dishes and experiencing technology products and cosmetics as well as admiring French furniture in over 60 stalls of famous French restaurants and businesses in Vietnam.

Following the success of last year, this year’s “Balade en France” introduced Vietnamese people the famous specialities of the famous “Balade en France” cuisine and special cultural and entertainment activities. of France. “Balade en France” promises to bring the participants the unexpected and interesting experiences and unforgettable memories.

It is also considered to be an important political-cultural event in foreign affairs, contributing to enhancing cultural exchanges and interpersonal exchanges between the two countries, creating a warm space of friendship and sincerity as well as the mutual trust and understanding between Hanoi capital and France. Chairman of Hanoi City People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung hopes that, through the festival, visitors could feel the welcome and the heart of Hanoi for miniature France in Vietnam.

French Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Bertrand Lortholary emphasized that through the event, the relationship between the two countries will be strengthened. He also expressed his gratefulness to the facilitation and wholehearted support of the Hanoi City People’s Committee for the success of “Balade en France”. Mr. Bertrand Lortholary hopes that the festival will leave a good impression on the people of Hanoi.
