According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, during the four public holidays from April 30 to May 3, 2020, the total number of tourists coming to Hanoi reaches more than 21,000, of which, most are domestic tourists. Total revenue from tourism reached VND 68 billion. Resort demand in some tourist resorts ranges from about 60-68%. However, if compared to the same period last year, the number of tourists coming to Hanoi for the holidays of April 30 this year decreased from 90-97%, this shows that the influence of the tourism industry due to COVID-19 is very big.

During the holiday, many tourist places and destinations that attract many tourists in Hanoi are still temporarily suspended such as Huong Pagoda, Thang Long Citadel, Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo Prison Relic, Ngoc Son temple, Hanoi zoo, system of museums, etc. However, there are also some areas and spots that are open to welcome guests on April 30 & May 1, and also attract a large number of visitors on this occasion. These are the points: Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchanges Center at No. 50 Dao Duy Tu Street, Old House at No. 87 Ma May Street, Hanoi Book Street, Bao Son Paradise Park, Ba Vi National Park, tourist sites in Ba Vi (Tan Da, Thien Son – Suoi Nga, Khoang Xanh – Suoi Tien, Ao Vua), tourist attractions of Son Tay town (Duong Lam ancient village, Son Tay ancient citadel), etc.

During the 4-day holiday, Duong Lam ancient village welcomed 624 visitors; Bao Son Paradise Park more than 4,700 visitors; Thien Son – Suoi Nga tourist resort more than 2,000 tourists; Tan Da tourist area 1,200 visitors; Ba Vi National Park w8,480 visitors, etc. The number of visitors to tourist sites and destinations during this year’s holiday season, though still decreasing sharply compared to the same period in 2019, is a good sign of the prosperity of the Capital’s tourism industry in the COVID-19 pandemic situation that has not yet ended.

According to the Department of Immigration Management – Hanoi Public Security, on the holiday of April 30 & May 1 this year, the number of international visitors staying in Hanoi reached more than 1,100 arrivals. In which, international visitors to Hanoi are mainly guests stuck in Hanoi and other localities across the country have moved to the capital to visit and travel on the first long holiday after the social distancing because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
