According to the plan, the purpose of the commemorative activities is to propagate widely to officials, Party members, and the capital city’s citizens for a thorough understanding of the great merits and great contributions by President Ho Chi Minh to the revolutionary cause of Vietnam, affirming that it is a great honor and pride for Hanoi to be the place where Uncle Ho lived and worked for the longest time and was also the place he cared for and gave special affection to, thereby showing the respect and deep gratitude from the Party Committee and people of the Capital City towards him.
Commemorative and propaganda activities will contribute to consolidating and fostering people’s confidence with the Party; educating the young on revolutionary ideals, patriotism, and self-reliance; fostering the patriotic emulation movement and demonstrating the determination to successfully implement the Resolution of the 16th City Party Committee and the Resolution of the 12th National Assembly; and successfully holding Party meetings at all levels toward the 17th City Party Committee and 13th National Assembly.
Hanoi is expected to cooperate in holding four commemorative events as directed and assigned by the central government. Particularly, the city will assume the prime responsibility for and cooperate with ministries and central agencies in holding a national celebration on May 18.
In addition, Hanoi will participate in 3 events held by the Central Government and hold 8 other events, namely Conference in Honor of Party Bodies meeting “clean, strong” Standard and Party Members meeting “Excellent Completion of Assigned Task” Standard for 5 years (2015-2019); production of the documentary film “Uncle Ho with Hanoi Capital”; photo exhibitions; art programs; exchanges, etc.
