Building children’s joy and habit of reading is a long-term task. When there is a bookcase reserved by parents in the house, even naming the bookcase after themselves, the children treasure their books more, and are more conscious of reading.

The pride in their own bookcase in the children also grows over the years to become a personal “treasure”. Owning a bookcase also easily helps children to form preservation and arrangement skills, easily check and compare, find information, throughout the learning journey.
At different ages, children need to read different books about the content of knowledge, the way of expression, the form of presentation. Reading the right book is like studying in the right class, when appropriate, children will easily accept and love that book.
Within the framework of the program “Reading through the summer 2021”, Kim Dong Publishing House organized a contest to introduce written books and vlogs (in the form of video clips) to create a useful and healthy playground for children aged 6 – 15 show their talents, creativity, voice their thoughts, ideas, dreams after reading favorite books.
The competition encourages students to love reading and practice writing, drawing, and speaking skills, confidently expressing their views, and at the same time creating an important milestone in learning outside of school.
The contest consists of two forms, namely writing or recording a video clip, the content shows affection about a book by Kim Dong Publishing House which he/she read in the summer of 2021, explains the reason for loving that book and convinces others to read it.
For writing, students can use the form of writing letters, telling stories, discussing, etc. no more than 1,000 words. In the form of video clip recording, the students made it with a camcorder, a mobile phone with a video recording function, a camera with a video recording function… the duration was about 3-5 minutes.
According to the Organizing Committee, each student can participate in both writing and video clip categories, but can only enter with a single entry in each category.

The Organizing Committee will mark, post for the audience to vote and announce the prizes at the end of August at Kim Dong Kids Facebook page. The contest has 2 special prizes, each consisting of VND 5 million and a book card worth VND 3 million, along with many other extra prizes.
