The Capital Children’s Competition to propagate and introduce summer books 2021 with the theme “Journey in Uncle Ho’s footsteps” launched by the Department of Culture and Sports at the end of March 2021 has received the enthusiastic response of the children in the city. In most districts, towns, the Capital Children’s Competition propaganda and introduction of summer books 2021 has entered the final round to select the best works to participate in the City-level competition.
Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Organizing Committee of the Capital Children’s Contest to propagate and introduce summer books 2021 has changed the form of organizing the contest by individuals or teams (from 1-3 children) through video construction. The content of the contest consists of 3 parts with a duration of 18 minutes, including Part One: Introduction of the team: An overview of the locality (achievements, landscapes, historical traditions, cultural revolutions, famous people of the homeland, etc.), about library activities and local reading movement, about Team activities and personal information of team members; Part 2: Propaganda and introduction of books: through forms such as book introduction, book review, or book storytelling with propaganda content, introducing books written about the move and career of President Ho Chi Minh; historical events of the Party and the capital of Hanoi; historical places associated with President Ho Chi Minh; about Uncle Ho’s feelings for the capital’s children, the capital’s children’s and Uncle Ho’s; typical children follow the 5 things taught by Uncle Ho; Part 3: Show your talent, has content that matches the theme of the Competition.
Up to now, the Capital Children’s Contest to propagate and introduce summer books 2021 at the City level has received contest videos from nearly 20 districts, towns in the area. The videos submitted are all selected through a grassroots competition, ensuring good quality in terms of content and images. The contest closing ceremony and awarding ceremony is expected to take place at the end of October 2021 depending on the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The organizers hope that the contest will help the capital children understand more about the body, the move, and the career of President Ho Chi Minh, with his great contributions to the country and the nation, especially Uncle Ho’s love for Vietnamese children, thereby educating them with pride and respect for Uncle Ho, encouraging them to study and strive to follow Uncle Ho’s teachings by actions and deeds, concrete contributions to building an elegant and civilized capital.
The Capital Children’s Competition to propagate and introduce summer books in 2021 also aims to affirm the role of books and libraries in social life, build reading habits, and contribute to promoting the development of reading culture in the community.
