Accordingly, in order to improve the position and role of the village chiefs in performing local responsibilities and tasks; consolidating knowledge and skills in implementing the movement “All people unite to build a cultural life”, building a new countryside, and the image of elegant and civilized Hanoians, Steering Committee of the movement “All people unite to build a cultural life” of Hanoi City held the 3rd “Friendly Village Chief” Contest 2022 in Hano. After the preliminary round took place in 3 areas with the participation of 18 village chiefs of 18 districts and townships in the city, the final round of the third “Friendly Village Chief” contest in Hanoi will take place tomorrow, November 15, with the participation of 5 village chiefs who are the most typical and excellent representatives selected from the preliminary round, from districts: Gia Lam, Quoc Oai, Dong Anh, Thuong Tin and Son Tay town.
The 3rd “Friendly Village Chief” contest of Hanoi is held from grassroots to the city level, in order to create opportunities to learn and exchange experiences in building grassroots culture in general, the movement “All people unite to build a cultural life” in particular associated with other local emulation movements. It also aims to improve the capacity, skills and professionalism of the Village chiefs in performing their duties in general and in building a cultural life in particular, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people, building cultural villages and constructing new rural areas. At the same time, the contest is expected to encourage the grassroots movement staff so that the village chiefs can be closely associated with the movement and promote cultural, artistic and sports activities in the locality, effectively implementing the theme of the 2022 working year of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, which is “Building a grassroots cultural environment and staff organization”.

At the conference, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Van Anh said that the final round of the Third “Friendly Village Chief” contest of Hanoi will be attended by 5 village chiefs who are typical and excellent representatives selected from the preliminary round and will go through 3 sections. The Greeting section will introduce the highlights of the districts, townships, communes and villages, about the results in the movement of building cultural villages, building new countryside, propaganda and mobilization the people in the construction of grassroots cultural life… In the Knowledge section, candidates will answer 05 questions by choosing the correct answer A-B-C. The Presentation section is the most focused part of the contest. Each village chief will bring to the contest his/her own insights on the quality improvement of the title “Cultural family”; the preservation and promotion of local tangible and intangible cultural values; the building of cultural village rules and conventions; the promotion of physical training and sports movements, the implementation of the movement “All people practice physical training and sports following the example of the great Uncle Ho”; the implementation of a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals, etc.

At the Conference, the Organizing Committee also informed about the Contest “Keeping the alleys green, clean beautiful to welcome the 31st Southeast Asian Games”. The contest was launched to well maintain the results achieved, contributing to environmental protection, building a “bright, green, clean and beautiful” capital, building “elegant and civilized Hanoians” image to prepare for the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31). The contest was launched from April 5, 2022 and lasts until the end of November 2022. The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has established a team to inspect, evaluate and score alleys and streets participating in the City-level contest of districts and towns. Through the actual inspection and assessment, many streets, residential areas, village roads and alleys were decorated cleanly and beautifully, people’s awareness in keeping hygiene has been significantly improved and become a habit. This is an important premise in raising awareness and creating civilized, cultural and elegant behavioral habits of Hanoians not only for today but also for a long-term cultural consciousness for generations of people in the capital.
Also through the contest, many districts, towns and cities have appeared in the city with good practices and models, suitable to the actual situation of each locality, creating positive changes in the implementation of environmental sanitation, urban order and building a civilized lifestyle.
