When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out for the 4th time, Chuong My District’s Communist Youth Union directed its units to review and adjust scenarios to cope with the pandemic situation to suit reality. Especially during the time of implementing social distancing according to Directives No. 17, 20 and Official Letters No. 18, 19 of the City People’s Committee, the blue-shirt volunteers of Chuong My District’s Communist Youth Union have always been in charge, joined hands with the frontline forces in the “war” against the pandemic.
The Communist Youth Unions of communes and towns have established 32 volunteer youth teams to participate in duty at inter-village and inter-commune checkpoints; established mobile propaganda teams for pandemic prevention and control in the district. “Youth speakers” appeared on major roads and alleys to propagate and mobilize people to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic, such as: Propagating 5K and 5T messages; propagandizing people not to move out of their places of residence, not to go to the streets unless absolutely necessary… In addition, grassroots Communist Youth Union organizations have established direct propaganda teams in densely populated areas and traditional markets to propagate and mobilize people to well implement measures to prevent and control the pandemic, guide medical declaration, install Bluezone application, install Electronic Health Record application.

The grassroots unions have mobilized 500 turns of union members and young people to participate in the preparation of the medical quarantine zones at the Vietnam National University of Forestry, Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports, Hanoi Community College and Hanoi General Vocational Secondary School; mobilized VND 74 million to send 370 gifts to the forces on duty at the quarantine zones in 4 communes and towns including Phung Chau commune, Dai Yen commune, Thuy Xuan Tien commune and Xuan Mai town. In addition to these activities, grassroots unions mobilized necessities worth more than VND 700 million, visited and presented 860 gifts to families of children with difficult circumstances and duty stations in the district. Coordinate with mass organizations to support farmers to consume 13 tons of vegetables; 7 tons of longan during social distancing.

Responding to the program “Millions of Meals – Hanoi’s heart”, the grassroots unions of Chuong My district coordinated with local mass organizations to support food to organize cooking and giving to the staff on duty checkpoints in villages and towns. Typically, the “Blue Logistics” movement of the Youth Union of Tot Dong commune provided thousands of meals and hundreds of gifts to the force on duty to control and prevent the pandemic in the area. From social mobilization, the Youth Union of Tot Dong Commune has donated 78 gifts to families with difficult circumstances, the elderly alone, poor students overcoming difficulties, cases affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The “war” against the pandemic is still continuing, wearing a volunteer blue shirt, the youth of Chuong My district is not afraid of difficulties and are not afraid to take on specific and practical tasks to help the frontline forces fight against the pandemic, with determination to fight the COVID-19 pandemic off.
