On the morning of 23rd March, Party Central Committee member, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Ha Noi Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang checked out the implementation progress of Programme No. 02-CTr/TU on “Developing agriculture, building new rurality and raising farmers’ living standard in Gia Lam district’s area”.

During the past year, in implementing the Programme No. 02-CTr/TU, the facade of Gia Lam district has undergone many positive changes. The district’s economy has continuously registered a relatively fast growth, the economic structure has been switched in a positive direction, the sectoral production values have constantly accomplished and outpaced the set targets. In the 1st quarter of 2017 alone, the production volume of key economic industries managed by the district has increased estimatedly to 9.8% compared to that of the previous year, in which the value of agriculture, forestry and aquaculture production has been up nearly 1.1%.
Regarding the outcomes achieved under the new rural criteria, by the end of 2016, there have been 17 out of 20 hamlets recognized as new rural standard level, 3 others basically accepted with more than 16 criteria. In 2017, the district will be striving to complete the new rural building in 3 communes: they are Ninh Hiep, Trung Mau and Le Chi.

At the meeting, Ms Ngo Thi Thanh Hang highly appreciated the outcomes achieved by Gia Lam district in the implementation of the Programme No. 02-CTr/TU. Strikingly, the district has been able to set up the agricultural models of high economic efficiency, with a plenty of plants and animals farmed in the way of environmental protection and bringing more incomes to farmers. Particularly, the district has masterplanned specially cultivated lands and targeted to achieve an increase of equivalent transferred areas in 5 to 10 years.
She also emphasized the district should concentrate on the propaganda work in order to get all the political network involved in the building of new rural model. In order to do that, each level, branch and locality should also to formulate clear guidlines and plan of actions.
