On the afternoon of April 7, within the framework of the working program of the Presidium of the Cuba Cuba National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) in Vietnam led by Mr. Antonio Eduardo Becalli Garrido and delegation’s officers visited and worked Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center. Accompanying with the delegation was Mr. Vuong Bich Thang – the Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Mr. Tran Duc Phan – the Deputy Director General of General Department of Sports and Physical Training.

At the meeting, Mr. Vuong Bich Thang – Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training introduced and confirmed that Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center is one of the best and most modern centers for training athletes in Vietnam. Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center is equipped with modern equipment, synchronized with a closed process from eating, accommodation, training, daily activities to cultural education and competition.

Talking with the leaders of the Cuba sports delegation, Mr. Dao Quoc Thang – Deputy Director of the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center reported that there are about 3,000 coaches and athletes who regularly train at the Center. The Center also manages 33 disciplines, including 23 disciplines in the Olympic Games, which is also the place where the General Department of Sports and Physical Training assigning for training athletes for the Olympic arena, young Olympic.

During the 2-day visit on April 6 to April 7 in Vietnam, the delegation of INDER visited the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center and Hanoi National Sports Training Center to seek training venues for the Cuba sports teams, to help athletes familiarize themselves with the time zone, the corresponding climate ahead of the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

At the meeting, Mr. Vuong Bich Thang – Director General expressed his hope that Cuba will create conditions for sending professional coaches and specialists in their strength such as Boxing, Volleyball and Athletics to Vietnam to exchange experience in Vietnam. And vice versa, Mr. Vuong Bich Thang said that Vietnam will facilitate as much as possible when Cuba will send some of their teams for training, familiarizing with the weather conditions before participating in the Tokyo Olympic 2020. In the field of sports medicine, the Director General also hopes that Cuba’s support in recovery-physiotherapy for athletes particularly in a number of disciplines which are likely to suffer from serious injuries.

Impressed after visiting the facilities at Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center and Hanoi National Sports Training Center, the Chairman Antonio Eduardo Becalli Garrido said: Cuba will also send plans soon on teams to Vietnam for training before attend the Olympic Tokyo in 2020. Cuba also fully agreed with Vietnam party to send coaches for training athletes towards a successful Olympic Games. He also expressed that this is an important time and active training for key athletes and that the two parties will coordinate to be able to support each other and Cuba is always ready.
