At the meeting, Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Huyen – Head of the Culture and Information Division of Bac Tu Liem district reported that in response to the contest “ Keeping the lanes green and clean and beautifying the streets” to celebrate the 31st Southeast Asian Games organized by the City in 2022 and maintain the contest “ Keeping the lanes green and clean and beautifying the streets” in Bac Tu Liem district, every year the People’s Committee of Bac Tu Liem district issues a plan to organize the district-level contest and has maintained the contest until 2022, which is the 9th year. Accordingly, the environmental cleaning is maintained every Saturday morning. The implementation of urban embellishment, dismantling unauthorized signboards and billboards; scaly roof and other roofs in violation of regulations; removing and cleaning up unauthorized ads; embellishing and decorating lanes, residential areas, houses; planting flowers and ornamental plants at living and working area has created a green, clean and beautiful environment in the whole district. The People’s Committees of the wards decorate the lanes and streets with flags, flowers, trees, and paint murals. In 2022, Bac Tu Liem district installed 05 routes with murals, 05 routes with flowers planted, 1 route with flag stands and red flags.
In February 2022, Bac Tu Liem district continued to organize the contest “Keeping the lanes green, clean and beautiful”, with 100% of wards issuing plans to organize ward-level contests, implementing scoring and selecting the route with the highest score to submit to the district-level Contest; and there were 33 routes registered to participate in the district-level Contest.

Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Huyen emphasized: “Over the past 9 years (from 2014 to 2022), the organization and launch of the “Green – Clean – Beautiful Streets” Contest has brought many practical effects, contributing to changing the appearance of streets, protecting the environment, beautifying the urban landscape and spreading the good deeds in the residential community”.
Recorded at Hoang Minh Thao Street (located in Xuan Dinh and Xuan Tao wards), the inspection team highly appreciated the implementation of the contest “Keeping the lanes green, clean, and beautifying the streets” to welcome the 31st Southeast Asian Games of Bac Tu Liem district. Especially, the coordination of the 2 wards Xuan Dinh and Xuan Tao, the active participation of agencies, mass organizations, women’s unions, youth unions… of the 2 wards are recorded.
Mr. Tran Van Hien – Head of Residential Group 3 (Xuan Tao ward) said The environmental sanitation movement on every Saturday of the residential group has always been maintained, not only when the contest was held but it has become a regular task of people in the residential group. Xuan Tao ward in general and residential group 3 in particular have many narrow lanes, but the sanitation work is always maintained by the people so that the lanes are always clean. In addition, the flower lane movement was also well implemented by the women’s associations, bringing a new look to the lanes.

Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuan Tao Ward (Bac Tu Liem District) Nguyen Xuan Long also added: Implementing the City’s plans, the District’s Culture and Information Division has advised the District People’s Committee to issue and deploy many projects to carry out urban embellishment, building civilized, green – clean – beautiful roads throughout the district, including Xuan Tao and Xuan Dinh wards. Regarding the propaganda and mobilization of the people, after receiving the plan of the District People’s Committee, Xuan Tao ward actively propagated and mobilized for the People to recognize the civic responsibility in preserving and protecting the environment, green – clean – beautiful streets in the ward. Thereby, the urban landscape is getting more and more beautiful, people’s awareness is improved in preserving the landscape such as participating in weekly general cleaning and planting trees. Especially on Hoang Minh Thao Street, the ward has assigned the tasks to the Fatherland Front, associations and mass organizations such as the Youth Union, Veterans Association, Red Cross Association, Women’s Union, etc. to propagate to members participating in the general cleaning, embellishment, removal of billboards, etc. on the roads in the ward. For the contest, people from all walks of life in both Xuan Tao and Xuan Dinh wards actively participated, with the goal of ensuring that the streets and urban landscapes throughout the ward are decorated, greener, cleaner and well beautified. The contest has helped upgrade the motivation and determination for the localities as well as the people as a premise. Xuan Tao ward will continue to propagate and mobilize people to better understand and become more conscious in the protection and preservation of the environmental landscape on the streets and lanes in the area, contributing together with the whole district and the whole city to keep the urban landscape of the district, as well as of the capital increasingly green – clean – beautiful.
