Accordingly, during the period from June 1 to June 30, 2021, the district plans to organize the launch of “National action month for children in 2021” at district, commune and township levels with an appropriate scale and form with the actual situation of the locality and ensure the requirements of COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control. Organizing activities: Visiting, giving gifts, awarding scholarships to children; medical examination and treatment support; supporting surgery, orthopaedics and rehabilitation for children with disabilities, children with serious diseases, children with congenital heart disease as prescribed; coordinating in organizing summer activities, recreation, entertainment, culture, sports, tourism, visiting relics and scenic spots to ensure the safety and health of children with useful & rich content and form, suitable to the needs of children and the actual situation and developments of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the reality of the locality and unit; coordinate in organizing swimming lessons for children, equipping them with skills to ensure safety in the water environment, safety in traffic and how to give first aid in case of an accident or injury (especially traffic accidents, drowning, falls) for parents and caregivers.

The district will promote communication and advocacy to raise the awareness and responsibility of all levels, branches, agencies, units and families in the district in the care and protection of children, especially children with special circumstances. Communication is carried out in many forms, ensuring effectiveness and practicality. Contents of communication: The guidelines and lines of the Party, policies and laws of the State and Hanoi city on children’s work in general and children with special circumstances in particular. In particular, continue to communicate and educate the law on the Law on Children in 2016; Decree No. 56/2017/ND-CP dated May 9, 2017, of the Government detailing certain articles of the Law on Children; Programs and decisions approved by the Prime Minister on child protection and care for the period 2021 – 2030; communicate about the phone number of the Hanoi Center for Social Work Services – 024.3525.662 and the National Child Protection Switchboard – 111 for all children, individuals, agencies and organizations to contact Contact when in need of help, child protection, etc.

Also, the district organizes training courses to improve the capacity of staff in charge of children at all levels and provide knowledge and skills for parents and caregivers; provides training on life skills for children, skills in preventing and fighting accidents and injuries, skills in protection, prevention and control of abuse and ensuring children’s safety during natural disasters, the COVID-19 pandemic which are appropriate for the age and development of children.
To improve the effectiveness of child care and protection, Chuong My district strengthens socialization and mobilizes resources from domestic and international organizations and individuals to support children in general and children in special circumstances, the risk of falling into special circumstances in particular. Invest in the construction of welfare works and facilities or upgrade and supplement entertainment facilities for children in the community. Chuong My District People’s Committee requested localities and units to organize practical activities during the National Action Month for Children, suitable to the actual conditions of the locality as well as the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic.
