The cluster of relics of communal house Quynh Lam – Mieu Me (Cam Thuong commune, Ba Vi) was built in the early 19th century. With a massive architectural monument, Quynh Lam communal house has the appearance of a traditional ancient communal house, containing typical cultural values of Doai Region. The communal house worships the mother of an outstanding figure in national history Nguyen Kinh, a meritorious official of the Mac dynasty. Experiencing wars and incidents, he made many merits with the Mac dynasty and was even appointed to the position of Thai Uy and Tay Quoc Cong. Mieu Me worships the mountain god – the indigenous belief of the Ba Vi Mountain. The cluster of relics is a common house, a place of cultural, religious, and spiritual activities of the local community.
To preserve and further promote the values of the relic in the people’s lives and at the same time create a legal basis to protect the relic, in 2020, the People’s Committee of Ba Vi district has directed the specialized units of the district to coordinate with the Department of Culture and Sports to compile a dossier to rank the relic of communal house Quynh Lam – Mieu Me. On April 6, 2022, the Hanoi City People’s Committee decided to recognize the cluster of relics of communal house Quynh Lam – Mieu Me, Cam Thuong commune as a Historical Monuments – Art Architectural relic.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ba Vi District People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Anh affirmed that “The people’s awareness of preserving and respecting traditional cultural values has contributed to creating a foundation for building a sustainable culture. Achieving the accomplishments today is a process of keeping and preserving the heritage of generations of people.”
In order to further promote and preserve the values of the relic cluster in the coming time, Vice Chairman of Ba Vi District People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Anh proposed the Party Committee, Government, Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations of Cam Thuong commune to do a good job of propagating and disseminating the state’s legal documents regulating the management and protection of relics; raise people’s awareness and responsibility in preserving, conserving, embellishing and promoting the values of relics as well as local cultural traditions. At the same time, they need to develop internal rules and regulations on management and protection of relics, avoid encroachment and damaging the relic, and well perform socialization work to repair and embellish them.
