Being aware of the roles and responsibilities of the Dan Phuong Women’s Union, its staff and members in environmental protection. Over the past time, the Women’s Union and sub-unions have had many practical activities, many works and actions to implement the Campaign “Building a family of 5 no’s, 3 clean’s”, the movement “For a clean environment, women and the people of the capital do not dump waste on the streets and public places”, the movement “The women of the capital behave nicely.” Besides, the Dan Phuong District Women’s Union also promoted and mobilized a large number of members to abide by the regulations on civilized urban order, the code of conduct in public places, to clean the house, clean the alley, and clean the village, the fields, to coordinate to other organizations to clear the garbage spots, to actively plant and take care of flowers and trees, renovate the landscape in residential areas, limit the use of plastic bags, and contribute their efforts to build a civilized lifestyle, and protect the environment.
Launched mobile propaganda campaign to respond to World Environment Day and propagate the harmful effects of plastic waste
In 2022, World Environment Day (June 5) was launched with the theme “Only One Earth”, the district Women’s Unions and sub-unions performed well the following contents: Continuing to coordinate with the authorities, the committees, branches and mass organizations well performed the contest “Keeping villages and residential groups bright, green, clean, beautiful and safe”, maintaining the routine of regular general cleaning, and responding to peak waves on cleaning, launching a general cleaning operation to eliminate garbage and waste spots in residential areas, improving the quality, effectiveness and replicating models run by women such as “Women-run segments/streets”, “Fresco/blossoming streets/segments”, “Community spots with green, clean, beautiful and environmentally friendly features”; “A model dyke in bloom”, “Clean field”; “Sub-unions changing their behaviors to food safety practices”, models of post-harvest treatment of rice straw, encouraging members and their families not to use honeycomb charcoal stoves that pollute the environment, etc.

At the launching ceremony, the District Women’s Union presented 10 trash cans with lids to women in difficult circumstance in Phung town, and organized a mobile propaganda campaign to respond to World Environment Day and propagate the harmful effects of plastic waste on the environment at the Hall of the People’s Committee of Phung town for nearly 100 women’s members in the district./.
