This year, the festival will be held solemnly and feature various exciting activities to serve citizens. The 230th anniversary of Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da victory will be organized at the municipal level and divided into two parts: the ceremony and the festival. The ceremony includes activities as follows: service, procession of Emperor Quang Trung and Queen Le Ngoc Han litters; flower offering, incense offering, funeral oration at the monument and temple of Emperor Quang Trung. Next is the drum performance, dragon dance and speech to celebrate the 230 years of Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da victory. The most notable part is to announce the Prime Minister’s decision on naming Dong Do Mound as a national special relic and receiving certificate of national special relic for Dong Da Mound etc. The festival encompasses many activities such as citizens and visitors’ incense offering, traditional cultural performances, folk games and notably, the Art program celebrating 230 years of Ngoc Hoi- Dong Da victory at night, said Mr. Phan Hong Viet, Vice Chairman of Dong Da District People’s Committee, on informing the plan of organizing activities to celebrate 230 years of Ngoc Hoi- Dong Da Victory (1879-2019).

Beyond main activities, this festival also includes a variety of activities prior to the inaugural ceremony: Organizing propaganda of Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da victory, biography and the career of Emperor Quang Trung – Nguyen Hue; introducing historical relic- Dong Da mound; holding a Tay Son Dynasty exhibition; performing arts, culture, arts, sports at Dong Da Cultural Park … associated with celebrating 230 years of Ngoc Hoi victory – Dong Da.
It is noteworthy that in 2018, towards this great anniversary event, Dong Da district organized incense offering at the monument area, temple of Emperor Quang Trung and at Dong Da Cultural Park. In addition, the District also participated in memorial activities during these days in Gia Lam, Hanoi and in the homeland of Emperor Quang Trung in Tay Son – Binh Dinh on the occasions such as: the 226th death anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung, 219th death anniversary of Princess Le Ngoc Han.
