In 2022, the commune achieved the heightened standards of the New Countryside, and in 2023, it aspires to reach the model New Countryside status. The average income has surpassed VND 70 million per person per year. All six hamlets boast Cultural Houses, equipped with outdoor sports facilities featuring dozens of courts for badminton, volleyball, soccer, basketball, fitness pull-up bars, etc., catering to the cultural, artistic, physical, and sports needs of the community.

Executing the New Countryside development, with collective effort and determination, the officials and residents of Dong Lo Commune, Ung Hoa District, have yielded numerous positive outcomes, contributing to the transformation of the commune’s landscape. Presently, all rural roads, commune axis roads, inter-commune roads, and internal traffic are hardened and illuminated with a green, clean, and beautiful landscape, guaranteeing an environmentally friendly environment. All three schools are nationally recognized as meeting the standard criteria.

Cultural and sports facilities receive focused investment for construction, upgrades, and repairs. Utilizing city funds, the commune now has a sports field in Vien Dinh hamlet, covering an area of 5,400m2. The Commune People’s Committee Hall has been newly constructed, presenting a spacious multipurpose hall for cultural and sports activities. With one floor, the hall spans 450m2 and can accommodate around 400 seats. Additionally, all six hamlets now have new Cultural Houses, ensuring sufficient space and adequate designs to meet the cultural, artistic, physical, and sports needs of the residents. Each of these hamlets has also installed outdoor sports equipment, including numerous badminton, volleyball, soccer, and basketball courts, and fitness pull-up bars.

Green, clean, and beautiful environmental landscape

Enthusiastically embracing the New Countryside development, Dong Lo has implemented practical and effective initiatives, such as the self-managed model “Safe, Bright, Green, Clean, and Beautiful Residential Area,” and the flower-lined road construction model, where the commune mobilizes social funds to plant trees and install stone benches. Various community organizations actively participate in the movement “For a green, clean, and beautiful environment, no littering or waste disposal on the streets or in public places.” The commune’s greenery system has been invested in, with planting, care, and enhancement covering a total length of 7.5km. Particularly noteworthy is the weekly Friday afternoon tree planting and care activity at the Commune People’s Committee, where officials and staff collectively engage in tending to trees and flowers on the premises. In the hamlets, every Saturday morning, the community collaboratively ensures environmental hygiene, sweeping village roads, alleys, public areas, historical landmarks, and cultural houses. Various community organizations actively encourage members to participate in planting and caring for flowers and trees, contributing to maintaining green, clean, and beautiful roads, enhancing the overall landscape of the commune.

Dong Lo is undergoing a robust transformation towards constructing a model new countryside. The landscape is now green, clean, and beautiful, featuring a sophisticated and synchronized infrastructure. The material and spiritual lives of the residents are incessantly improving. Dong Lo is becoming a desirable rural area, contributing to the increasingly civilized and prosperous development of Ung Hoa District.
