Implementing Resolution No. 11/2012/NQ-HDND dated July 13, 2012 by the City People’s Council on “Planning for cultural development in Hanoi to 2020, orientation to 2030”, over the years, My Duc district implemented cultural, artistic, physical training and sports activities in a synchronous and effective manner. From 2013 to 2021, My Duc district effectively used the funds of the city and the district to invest in cultural development, with a total budget of over VND 708 billion.
On October 21, 2021, the monitoring team of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi People’s Council led by Vice Chairman of the City People’s Council, Mr. Pham Quy Tien had a meeting to monitor the results of the implementation of Resolution No. 11/2012/NQ-HDND dated July 13, 2012 by the City People’s Council on “Planning for cultural development in Hanoi to 2020, orientation to 2030” in My Duc district. The movement “All people unite to build a cultural life” gradually deepened. In 2013, the rate of cultural families in the district was only 84%, the rate of cultural villages reached 66.9% and the rate of cultural groups reached 66.6%, by 2020 these rates have increased 90% and 90.16%. The management of the festival and the restoration, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values are well done by My Duc people and authority. In the past 9 years, there have been 11 ranked relics, many vestiges have been invested and restored such as Huong Son relic and landscape area invested in renovation with a total cost of over VND 153 billion, 40 other relics have been restored with a total budget of over VND 95 billion. 55 of 55 traditional festivals all strictly comply with the Regulations on Festival Management, all festivals are organized in a civilized and safe manner, especially the Huong Pagoda festival held annually at the Huong Pagoda special national relic, which is appreciated by tourists that there are many advances, especially in environmental sanitation. Cultural institutions in the district are interested and invested, such as the district Cultural Center, the district library, and sports facilities. The district has also increased investment, repaired and built a new system of cultural houses – village sports areas (villages), residential groups to bring into play the system of cultural and sports institutions effectively. At the same time, My Duc district also well implemented the State mechanisms and policies on encouraging social organizations and economic sectors to invest in key cultural areas; invest in building a synchronous system of cultural institutions at the grassroots, etc.
