The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism just issued Decision No. 2369/QD-BVHTTDL on organizing a Festival of Librarians to propagate and introduce books to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Uncle Ho’s departure to find the way to save the country (June 5, 1911 – June 5, 2021) and major public holidays in 2021.

The festival aims to propagate and disseminate to all classes of people the documents and books telling about the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh; the significance and importance of his departure to find the way to save the country; the leadership role of the Party and Uncle Ho in the 2 resistance wars for national independence and national construction; the historical and cultural traditions, and heroic struggles against foreign invaders of the nation, thereby arousing the patriotic tradition, national pride, aspiration for dedication and development of a prosperous and happy country, fostering the trust in the Party and Uncle Ho, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of all classes of people, especially the young generation, in studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, lifestyle, and in building and developing the country.
The Festival must be prepared in a careful, economical, practical, and effective manner, ensuring close coordination with relevant agencies and units under the Plan. The teams that conduct practice and filming for the Festival should take measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic, demonstrating their professionalism, seriousness, rigour, and scientific operations. During the Festival, the safety measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic as directed by the Government must also be strictly taken, depending on the actual situation.
It is expected that 30 teams including libraries from provinces/centrally-run cities and libraries of the Ministry of Public Security will attend the Festival.
The Closing and Awarding Ceremony is expected to take place at the end of November 2021 in Hanoi. Depending on the actual situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will adjust and determine the appropriate time and form of closing and awarding, ensuring the strict implementation of pandemic prevention and control measures under the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister.
