The Children’s Collective Singing and Dancing Contest of Summer 2017 was held by the Center for Culture, Information, and Sports of Hoan Kiem District on two days, July 19 and 20, 2017.

Attending guests at the opening ceremony were representatives for leadership members of Hanoi Cultural Center and the district’s Center for Culture, Information, and Sports, as well leaders of some district-level departments, boards, organizations, and ward leaders.

A total of 18 teams from 18 wards attended the final round of the contest. Each team showcased a collective singing-dancing performance on the topic of praising the homeland and the country, expressing the love for the sea space and islands, praising the Party and Uncle Ho, showing gratitude, expressing respect to teachers and love for school, friendship, and so on. The performances earned the teams praise and enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

At the end of the contest, the organizers awarded a special prize to Cua Nam Ward, an excellence prize to Hang Buom Ward, three second prizes to Chuong Duong Ward, Tran Hung Dao Ward, Phuc Tan Ward and twelve third prizes to the following wards: Hang Gai, Trang Tien, Hang Ma, Cua Dong, Hang Bong, Hang Bai, Phan Chu Trinh, Hang Dao, Ly Thai Cong, Hang Bo, and Dong Xuan.

The contest was a useful and interesting event that offered a good opportunity for children to sharpen their self-discipline skills and solidarity through various cultural and art activities. The contest was also a chance for children to exchange experiences and for agencies to discover talents in the art of singing and dancing to help them develop comprehensively, both physically and mentally. Furthermore, the event helped raise the spirit for a cheerful welcome of the new school year.
