From September 29 to October 1, the Autumn in Hanoi Festival with the theme “Hanoi Autumn – Come to Love” will celebrate the landmarks, historical sites, and heritage of the capital city. This captivating, high-quality, and safe tourism event will take place in the pedestrian space around Hoan Kiem Lake and various districts and districts within the city.

The People’s Committee of Hanoi City has recently issued Plan No. 203/KH-UBND regarding the organization of the Hanoi Autumn Festival 2023. The program aims to showcase the beauty, cultural values, and tourism, exploring the unique and attractive aspects while honoring the landmarks, historical sites, and heritage of Hanoi – a compelling, high-quality, and safe tourist destination.
The Hanoi Autumn Festival, organized throughout the city, will introduce the unique values of traditional crafts and Hanoi’s cultural heritage – considered the essence of the nation with distinctive characteristics.
This year’s festival will see the participation of numerous agencies, organizations, districts, businesses, and tourist destinations. It serves as an opportunity to stimulate tourism to Hanoi, attracting people from various regions of the country and international tourists to the capital. The organization of the Autumn in Hanoi Festival ensures efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and a combination of budget sources and social mobilization in accordance with regulations.
The Hanoi Autumn Festival 2023 will feature 150 booths distributed along Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Le Thach Street, and the Octagonal House area, including areas for introducing tourism products and representative tourist destinations, spaces adorned with the “Colors of Autumn” theme, exhibitions promoting local handicraft products under the theme “Garden of Light,” spaces for “Autumn Gifts” and “Autumn Flavors,” a photo exhibition titled “Hanoi Autumn – Come to Love,” booths representing provinces, cities, international tourism agencies, and experiential spaces.
The Opening Ceremony and Art Program of the Hanoi Autumn Festival are scheduled to take place on September 29, 2023 (Friday) at the Ba Kieu Temple Garden area, with the participation of around 200 delegates. Concurrently, there will be culinary demonstrations showcasing food preparation techniques and various recreational activities aimed at attracting tourists.
Within the framework of the festival, the MICE & Golf Tourism Development Conference and Golf Tourism Survey in Hanoi will be held. Parades and performances from several districts will include the Lion Dance of Thanh Oai district, the Mid-Autumn Lantern Parade of Son Tay district, the Dong Anh kite show, the Me Linh flower display, the traditional puppetry performance of Te Tieu – My Duc, a procession combined with gongs performances by ethnic groups from Ba Vi, Thach That, and Quoc Oai districts, and an introduction to the art of processing and enjoying West Lake lotus tea.
Additionally, a series of activities will include the reenactment of past and present weddings on the stage and along Dinh Tien Hoang Street, public dance and sports dance performances, traditional Ao Dai fashion shows, children’s parades, children’s painting and art exhibitions, tourist cyclo parades, cycling events, and double-decker bus tours along Thanh Nien Street, Phan Dinh Phung Street, and Hoang Dieu Street. The Colors of Hanoi Autumn Photo Exhibition will be held at the cultural and artistic center (No. 22 Hang Buom Street) and the King Ly Thai To Monument area.
The introduction of tourism products will occur on both the stage and at various booths. The tourism demand-stimulating booths will feature the sale of tour packages, flight tickets, sightseeing, and tourism services at popular destinations in Hanoi, focusing on potential tourist development areas in specific districts and districts. The presented tour packages and tourism services will include promotions connecting Hanoi with nationwide destinations.
