Worthy of the City for Peace

SEA Games 31 is a sports festival for athletes from 11 countries in the Southeast Asia to compete for the highest achievements and shining.

This congress is a gathering place for many press reporters from different countries to come to work, promptly deliver vivid images, the hottest news about the progress of each match, each competition content, and the enthusiastic atmosphere at the congress to many domestic and international sports fans.

The Indonesian delegation worked at the Main Press Center (MPC) and the International Television Center (IBC) to serve the 31st SEA Games.

This is also an opportunity for journalists to learn about the country and people of Vietnam, and to convey the image of the friendly and hospitable capital Hanoi to friends in the region and the world.

After a long period of anti-epidemic of about 2 years, Vietnam has few opportunities to welcome international friends, especially foreign press to directly attend events and experience life as well as learn about the country and people of Vietnam.

Therefore, in addition to creating conditions for reporters to work at the SEA Games 31 according to the program at the Main Press Center (MPC) and the International Television Center (IBC), the SEA Games Organizing Committee also coordinates with the Subcommittee to Information Media and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Hanoi City to help foreign reporters learn more about Vietnam through participating in free tours, visiting unique scenic spots in Hanoi as well as the provinces and cities to organize the competitions.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the 31st SEA Games Organizing Committee Nguyen Van Hung visited reporters and international media at the Press Center.

Mr. Chea Vannak, Editor-in-Chief of the Foreign Affairs Newspaper of Cambodia News Agency (AKP) shared that: “I watched the opening ceremony of the 31st SEA Games and was very impressed with the meticulous, elaborate and creative organization of the host country Vietnam. The art performance not only highlights the cultural identity of Vietnam but also exudes the spirit of solidarity and joint contribution of the whole ASEAN “For a stronger Southeast Asia”.

The press center is equipped with modern equipment by the host country, fully equipped to serve journalists of all types of press. The Cambodian News Agency (AKP) will make every effort to learn from experience to best prepare and create the most favorable conditions for international press to work at the 32nd SEA Games.”

This is the second time Mr. Chea Vannak has come to Vietnam, but this is his first visit to Hanoi. Before that, he had visited Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.
He found Vietnamese people very friendly, open and hospitable. The ancient beauty of the capital also makes him very fond of and look forward to participating in tours to discover the culture and famous landmarks of Hanoi.

Mr. Bandung Saputra, communications officer of the Indonesia U23 team.

Mr. Bandung Saputra, communications officer of the Indonesia U23 team shared: “Due to the language barrier, I, as well as some foreign reporters, also encountered a bit of trouble such as getting lost or having difficulty in locating the stadium via google map. However, wherever we come to work, we just need to mention the “keyword” of the SEA Games and give the business card, we will receive maximum support from both people and volunteers or of the Organizing Committee. I am very impressed with the friendliness and hospitality of the people of the capital.”

Food culture and tourism in Hanoi leave an unforgettable impression

Mr. Ratchannipong Vorasarin, a reporter for Thai TV channel Channel 9 MCOT HD said: “This is the second time I have come to Vietnam, but every time, it leaves me an unforgettable impression. First, I was impressed with the vibrant sports atmosphere in the arenas. The day before, I went to Thien Truong Stadium, witnessing the match without the presence of the Vietnamese team. However, the stadium was packed with no space left and I was really impressed by the rare passionate atmosphere.

The vibrant sports atmosphere in the stadiums filled with spectators left an impression on international reporters.

At the opening ceremony of the 31st SEA Games at My Dinh Stadium, the host country’s spectacular performances with attractive repertoires such as lotus dance, followed by dances on the background of Dong Ho folk paintings, expressing the cultural and artistic identity of Vietnam make us very excited.

Every time I return to Vietnam, I see a lot of modern constructions being completed, so I realize that Vietnam is developing and changing very quickly. Hanoi streets also become more bustling these days. Flags, flowers.. and billboards, posters promoting SEA Games 31 appear on many streets in the center of the capital.

Hanoians are also always hospitable, leaving the impression of a peaceful city and ideal destination in the eyes of foreign reporters.

The evening space at Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian street made reporter Ratchannipong Vorasarin very interested.

In the process of reporting, just with the card, I and all international reporters are warmly welcomed and have the best possible working conditions. The next thing that impressed me was Hanoi’s cuisine, as soon as I came here, I and the reporters in the delegation enjoyed many delicious Hanoi foods such as pho… After that, I went to a cafe to enjoy the panoramic view of Sword Lake. In the evening, the evening scene of Hanoi is so beautiful and romantic.”
