The event saw the participation of distinguished representatives from various foreign embassies in Hanoi, including those of the Russian Federation, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Thailand, Italy, Cambodia, Myanmar, the People’s Republic of China, France, the Republic of Korea, Peru, and the Philippines.

In his opening speech, Mr. Do Dinh Hong, the Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, conveyed that the Hanoi International Culture and Arts Exchange 2023 is spearheaded by the Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Friendship Union of Hanoi, and several embassies in Hanoi. Featuring performances that showcase the rich cultural heritage of both Vietnam and other participating nations, the program aims to deliver joy, depth, and warmth to the delegates, the public, and the audience of the Capital amid Hanoi’s chilly weather.

Mr. Do Dinh Hong emphasized that Hanoi, known as the millennium-old city of culture, a city of peace, creativity, and hospitality, consistently places a high value on cultural collaboration with nations worldwide. This, he hopes, will contribute to the swift and effective integration of Hanoi with regions and countries globally. Looking ahead, he expressed the expectation that the cultural sector of Hanoi will continue to receive the support and partnership of foreign embassies in Vietnam. This collaboration is crucial for implementing cultural and artistic exchange activities, enhancing mutual understanding, and deepening the comprehensive development relationships between Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular, with our international friends.

The Hanoi International Culture and Arts Exchange showcased a captivating lineup of 19 extraordinary acts, including singing, dancing, music, and fashion performances presented by Vietnamese artists and diplomatic representatives from countries such as Russia, China, France, Italy, the Republic of Korea, and Laos.

The program commenced with a traditional instrumental ensemble: “Luu thuy kim tien – Xuan phong Long Ho” (Performed by the Ethnic Music Group Thanh Am Viet). Following this was a solo performance on the Dan Bau  titled “Me yeu con” (Performed by People’s Artist Hoang Anh Tu) and the dance “Truc xinh” (Performed by the Dance Ensemble). The subsequent segment featured performances by embassies of various nations: “Cham Pa Dance” (Performed by the Laotian Embassy), “Traditional Dance” (Performed by the Chinese Embassy), “Russian Folk Song” (Performed by the Russian Embassy), “Modera Thaidress Fashion Show” (Thai Embassy), “Mushup Singing – Em oi Ha Noi pho” (French Embassy), K-pop Dance (the Republic of Korea’s Embassy), and an Instrumental Performance (Italian Embassy).

In addition to the embassy performances, the program showcased exceptional acts by Vietnamese artists, including “Hat van – Co doi thuong ngan” (Artist Minh Phuong and Ensemble), Folk Song: “Beo dat may troi” (Thanh Long Ethnic Music Group), Singing: “Thu phap” (Singer Tien Hung and Ensemble), Xam Singing: “Muc ha vo nhan” (People’s Artist Hoang Anh Tu and People’s Artist Thanh Ngoan), Singing: “Nong nan Ha Noi” (Singer Duc Trung and Ensemble), Singing: “Son” (Thanh Long Ethnic Music Group), Singing: “Mai dinh lang bien” (Singer Tien Hung and Ensemble). The program concluded with a harmonious traditional Vietnamese instrumental piece: “Cung dan dat nuoc” (Performed by the Ethnic Music Group Thanh Am Viet).

Taking place over the weekend, the Hanoi International Culture and Arts Exchange 2023 garnered the enthusiastic attention of the Capital’s diverse audience along the pedestrian streets of Hoan Kiem Lake.
