On the morning of August 9, member of the City Party Standing Committee, the Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong chaired a ceremony to receive donations and transfer medical equipment and facilities to serve Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control; launched fanpage named “Unite against COVID-19” to promptly support difficult situations in the city.

At the program, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City received support from 5 units, organizations and individuals with a total amount of money and goods worth over VND 1.2 billion.

Speaking at the reception, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong sincerely thanked the attention and support of agencies, units and families in the prevention and control of the pandemic. With the drastic and synchronous participation of the whole political system, the city is controlling the pandemic well, the number one goal is to prevent and repel the pandemic to ensure the health and safety of each person; at the same time, create conditions to maintain and develop socio-economic in the area.

Implementing the direction of the City “Do not let any people go hungry or sick without being cared for”, in addition to the support policies of the State, the City, in the past days, to promptly support poor households and households in difficult circumstances due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City has supported over 3,404 poor households, each household has 01 gift of VND 1 million. Along with that, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have coordinated with member organizations, charity organizations and benefactors to support over 36,000 gifts, worth over VND 13 billion.

In order to continue to support people in difficult circumstances quickly and practically, without omitting the beneficiaries as well as limiting the support for the wrong people, starting from August 9, the City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee implemented the program “Unity against COVID 19”, supported people in difficult circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, launched the Fanpage: “United against COVID 19” and announced the Hotline phone numbers to receive information about cases in need of help in the City.

Regarding the form of support, those in difficult circumstances who do not have enough food and food during the days of social distancing will receive a gift worth VND 500,000, including necessities such as Rice, noodles shrimp, cooking oil, fish sauce, eggs, dried fish, peanuts, etc. The support will be given to each household in need by the Fatherland Front staff in coordination with other sectors, mass organizations, and charity organizations.

People in need in the city, at any address, can call the hotlines of the City Fatherland Front Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of 30 districts to receive timely and fastest help.

The Chairwoman, Nguyen Lan Huong wishes that the program will connect more charities and benefactors who have the heart to help disadvantaged people to the right address; ensure pandemic prevention and control, especially in the days when the city is implementing social distancing; we believe that with the joint effort and unanimity of the people of the Capital, we will win the Covid-19 pandemic.
