With the theme “Ensuring social security, empowering and creating opportunities for women and girls to realize gender equality and eliminate gender-based violence”, Action Month 2022 will take place from 15/11 to 15/12/2022.
Many activities are held on the occasion of 25th November
Accordingly, many activities will be implemented such as organizing forums, dialogues, seminars, workshops, cultural exchanges, sports activities, training, etc. with contents related to the Action Month 2022; propagate policies to ensure social security for the people in general, women and children in particular, the role of empowering women and girls in promoting gender equality; organize activities to support victims, women and children in difficult situations; honor outstanding collectives and individuals in gender equality, prevention and response to violence against women and children in general and the implementation of Action Month 2022 in particular.
Different activities are organized in various forms suitable to each subject and locality. In addition, the Hanoi government has also increased propaganda on the themes, messages and activities of Action Month on the mass media such as: direct communication; propaganda on radio and television systems; grassroots information systems in communes, wards and townships; websites, electronic newspapers and social networks. Strengthen the production of communication products on social security policies, women’s roles, gender equality and prevention and response to violence and abuse of women and children. In particular, direct service providers to support gender equality and respond to gender-based violence to strengthen communication and support to prevent and respond to gender-based violence, violence against women and children.
In addition, the city also promoted the mobilization of resources to implement the Action Month, strengthen the socialization of communication activities and support women and children in difficult situations and victims. Strengthen the forms of checking the implementation of gender equality. Strictly handle cases of violations on gender equality, prevention and combat of gender-based violence and support policies implementations to ensure social security.
The Department of Culture and Sports also proposed the People’s Committees of districts, towns to develop plans and implement activities on the occasion of “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women 25/11/2022 and Action Month for Gender Equality and the prevention and response to gender-based domestic violence in 2022 as well as guide People’s Committees of communes, wards, townships, relevant departments and units to provide guiding information, organize propaganda activities on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (25/11) and the Month of Action for Gender Equality. Mobilize people to implement gender equality, not discriminating against women and girls, especially intensifying loudspeaker broadcasting activities in communes, wards and townships on radio about gender equality and domestic violence prevention.
Different propaganda activities aim to raise awareness of mass organizations, family members and society about the meaning and importance of domestic violence prevention and control, and gender equality, thereby, contributing to improve gender equality and eliminate domestic violence in the city.
