Hanoi Museum received 8 memorabilia of resistance war

Mr. Nguyen Tien Da – Director of Hanoi Museum (the 4th from right) received artifacts from 7 veterans.

The artifacts include: An ambulance stretcher used in fighting in Quang Tri battlefield since 1972 was offered by veteran Do Van Thinh, born in 1952.

The cup beaten from a flare tube in Quang Tri battlefield, December 1971, was offerred by veteran Nguyen Van Am, born in 1940.

The cup beaten from the B90 anti-tank gun (the US booty) in Quang Tri battlefield, December 1971, was offerred by veteran Ha Minh Kha, born in 1950.

A comb made from the wreckage of an American plane shot down in Hanoi, in 1967, was offered by veteran Ngo Van Dung, born in 1940.

The T-shirt is a booty obtained by the US at Ai Tu airport, Quang Tri, in 1972 by veteran Do Quang Nghia, born in 1949.

The cigarette ash box mounted on a Jeep is a booty obtained by the US during the Thuong Duc Campaign, Quang Nam, in 1974, presented by veteran Pham Quoc Phuc, born in 1955.

Daggers and gamens used in Quang Tri battlefield in 1972 was offered by veteran Bui Van Binh, born in 1953.

It is known that, before the veterans of Phu Tho province offerred 8 artifacts to the Hanoi Museum, these artifacts were collected by veteran Bui Van Binh to display at his private house in Zone 3, Phong Chau town, Phu Ninh district for many years. It is like a miniature museum with more than 1,500 artifacts donated by more than 255 veterans.

The artifacts of veterans in Phu Tho province are valuable and humanistic resources that have important implications for the traditional educational propaganda for the young generation today and tomorrow.

This is a timely supplementary source of artifacts to the missing parts of the exhibition to introduce to visitors, increasing the source of war artifacts, diverse types of artifacts at the museum.
