The National Ethnic Wrestling Championship 2023, organized in collaboration by the Department of Physical Education and Sports, the Vietnam Wrestling Federation, and the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Bac Giang, took place from December 3 to 6.

The competition featured over 80 standout athletes from 8 provinces, cities, and sectors, including Bac Giang, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Tuyen Quang, Lam Dong, and the Military. Athletes competed in 18 weight categories ranging from 48kg to over 100kg.

The organizing committee presented overall awards.

The championship served as a platform for athletes to interact, train, exchange experiences, and enhance their professional skills. Simultaneously, the traditional wrestling techniques showcased the unique aspects of ethnic wrestling, introducing the beauty of this traditional sport. This, in turn, encourages the preservation, support, and promotion of the training movement.

At the end of the championship, Bac Giang emerged as the overall champion with 13 medals (3 gold, 8 silver, and 2 bronze); the Hanoi delegation secured the second position with 9 medals (3 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze), and Nghe An stood third with 8 medals (3 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze).
